How many of DPS classes have utilities outside of damage buffs?raid utility is not just about dps buffs, for progress utilities which decrease dmg or increasing healing are even, if not more important than dmg buffs. dunno about SB - but for ARR/HW taking dbl cls into a raid also had the backdrop that the limitbreak-charge took way longer than without dbl cls - if they haven't changed it in this tier - its most unlikely that raid-grps will take f.e. 4x Sams as DDs... even 2x are questionable... ^^
Including the class actions, the physical side gets goad and feint (equivalent of mana shift and virus/addle I guess), which SAM can take. Of the melee, it seems to be only MNK then with chakra inherent to the class itself?
Red Mage can hold on to their gauge burst for 2 GCDs without losing dps, and then hold onto it 3-4 GCDs longer with minor loss in dps. They don't have to maintain their gauge mechanic and lose nothing in down phases other than a minor amount of potency on their procs. They have no dots, debuffs, or self buffs to maintain.
Other classes completely drop their gauges and have to ramp up dots/debuffs/buffs on phase transitions or death. Red Mage doesn't care.
Practically, Red Mage is the most consistent dps right now. Just don't kill yourself or others doing charges or backflips.
Interesting how this gets 12 pages and only one person mentions DRG can't use dragon sight on a dummy parse, and everybody ignores him. Dragon sight is 10% for 20 seconds and can be used twice on this length of parse, that is not an insignificant amount of damage they are missing just because one of their skills cannot be used solo. Considering it would be used in the opener as well, where most damage buffs are stacked multiplicative, for a ton more damage I would feel okay adding a lot to their parse.
Not only that, but DRG aren't the only ones suffering such an anomaly. The MNK parse, just 5 dps behind NIN, is missing two casts of Brotherhood, which I feel safe in saying would more than cover the difference between MNK and NIN, even if you lowball it and say a MNK would only get 1 FC per use when it is more likely 2 - 3. Long story short, don't trust dummy parses for any kind of ranking, they never tell the full story.

Is there a video to see how it was done? Dragon sight is an easy fix if you just take the parse while in a party.Interesting how this gets 12 pages and only one person mentions DRG can't use dragon sight on a dummy parse, and everybody ignores him. They may have all been partied to normalize the party buff too.
But if they didn't do that, then yea those factors would be relevant to use dummy dps as an upper limit for these Jobs.
No video but I am pretty sure they were done on SSS, and again, don't quote me on this because I haven't tried in a long time but I am reasonably sure you can't take a party member in there with you, solo only.Is there a video to see how it was done? You can summon your chocobo and dragon sight him ^^Interesting how this gets 12 pages and only one person mentions DRG can't use dragon sight on a dummy parse, and everybody ignores him. Let me make it clear that that parse is most likely with Dragon sight since you can Dragon sight the chocobo. Dragoon is just that weak. I agree with your mnk statement though and this sentiment has be echoed everywhere so it's not a secret.Interesting how this gets 12 pages and only one person mentions DRG can't use dragon sight on a dummy parse, and everybody ignores him.
