Gathering gears needs Vitality.

Aggro type is dependent on mob. I'm guessing a saphia killed you? Mobs without eyes aggro on sound and not sight - you can actually walk past them. Once you unlock flight, gathering becomes much easier. Extra VIT would be nice to give more of a chance at survival when accidentally spotted, though..

I think it was a bear of some sort but I am seeing the HW process unfold in any case. Where entry level mats are a pig to get and will end up being more expensive than mid range. I farmed Ruby Cotton, no aggro for a few hours and got 5X more than I did Bloodhemp. I'm also seeing on the market, Doman Iron is a fraction of the price of Koppranickel and I am sure it's for the same reason.

Koppranickel is used for ARM/BSM and GSM.. might be why it costs more.
