Retainer level exp not increasing past 60

In the 4.0 patch note it said that retainer level cap has been increased to 70, yet when I sent my retainer out for a hunting exploration venture they always return with the message "retainer has reach max level". Anyone runs into this issue?

Are they a different class than your main? Retainers cannot level higher than you are on that same job. So if you made them a White Mage, you need to level it up first before they're start getting EXP again.

Your retainer, as always, is capped at your level in that class/job.

If your retainer is a Monk, and you have been leveling Red Mage in the expansion and left Monk at 60, your Retainer is still capped at 60 until you level Monk up. This is true for all retainers, regardless of job.
