    From what I've seen in the LL DRG did get buffed. But as far as i know the major issue hasn't been adressed. (keeping up eyes when losing BoTD.)

    Dragon Sight range Increase.
    Mirage Dive animation shortened
    Skill durations adjusted? (BoTD gives you 20 sec of BoTD. Might help a bit trying to keep eyes up during downtime.)
    Potency buffs (hopefully Nastrond)
    Sonic Thrust adjusted? (Hopefully they're giving it a 5 or 10 sec BoTD refresh.



    If they buff Nastrond so it's actually worth the long build up time then i don't mind. However I jus hope they are gnna adress losing BoTD & losing eyes during downtime.

    I know this is just a TL;DR of what was said in the live letter, but:

    A6. When it comes to increasing their damage, we’ll make adjustments by expanding on aspects that allow players to experience the uniqueness of the job.
    That just sounds like bullshit for 'we don't feel that we were wrong for making DRG the way it is and we aren't planning on making it stronger by just simply tweeking its potency'

    I'm aware that potency isn't the only issue with DRG doing shit dps and they are insistent on keeping it as the support melee (next to NIN apparently) but if we are focusing on them being able to perform in savage, all they will need are some numerical buffs to either their attacks or their utilities. If I'm honest, the eyes can be addressed later but the class being useful is a more immediate concern.

    Not liking the change, as a 35 lancer we get 6 role abilities to choose from and a total of 10 role actions. But as a 35 Dragoon it gets cut in half down to 3 abilities and 5 actions why ? it should be the same as lancer. and i think it was better when we could use cross class abilities but thats just my opinion.

    Edit for those who may be curious what Japanese dragoons have been asking for, the few days' worth of posts I've read is nearly identical to what I've seen in English feedback with the following additions:
    - A few posters didn't like how bright and dangerous the Dragon Sight tether looks, calling it harassment-tier (they have a way with words sometimes...).
    - A few posters have requested a reduction to Geirskogul cooldown even at the expense of potency; some because it would make LotD easier to enter at 4 eyes, others because they liked how it felt (quiet FC/WT → boom).
    - A few posters have opined that missed positionals on FC/WT are far too weak for something that takes 2/5 of our comboing. I cannot disagree, even if monks have it worse (so let's buff monks) and what Yoshida says is true (even had he said flank, since -80 on HT is < -50 on CT). Full Thrust average is 276+2/3 potency, ergo 200 potency at 72.289% of filler is mighty cruel for a combo finisher.

    So when you look at the long list of requests you have already seen in English in addition to this, needless to say the initial reactions to this are bordering on disbelief.


    For my part, I very much hope this was an understatement of what dragoon has in store. At least we'll get to Nastrond in dungeons now?

    Said what was on my mind. The changes are good, but its not what we wanted. I don't see how this is going to fix the DPS disparity or the fact that the job is clukier than a Bike with square wheels.

    The changes will help, just how much remains to be seen. We were only ever going to see huge changes in an expansion launch or if the situation became 2.0 launch Warrior bad. After all, it took until 2.45 for our magic def to be higher than gatherer classes, and for positionals to apply their secondary effects if missed.

    It’s still sad how much easier building dragon eyes is in pvp. If they want eyes to be punishing as they are in pve, that’s fine, I welcome high risk/high reward gameplay. But the reward needs to justify the risk, and right now it’s not even close to doing so. And I still don’t think it’s right that the culmination of single target skills is an aoe.

    Dragon Sight’s buff needs to go back where it came from – BFB. Its inclusion on DRG is contradictory to one of the main design goals of 4.0, reducing ability bloat. Dividing the buff of BFB into two cooldowns, then giving part of it to what will ostensibly be a Samurai, doesn’t sit well with me. Dragon Sight should have been a 2-minute cooldown to immediately gain the full gaze of the first brood, which would have provided much better synergy with the job as a whole.

    Taking away our previous identity and forcing this new support one in 4.0 doesn’t agree with why I played Dragoon in the first place, and I’m sure that is true for many, if not most Dragoon players. I will reserve final judgment until Tuesday, but right now if I continue to play DRG in 4.0 it will be in spite of this, not because of it.
