Necessary Changes:
-Losing BoTD no longer loses stored eyes. This is an easy and feasible change, considering Ammunition, Aetherflow, and other gauges don't decay their resources. Yes, Huton decays, but not their Ninken. MNK's Greased Lightning decay, but not their Chakras. No reason why BoTD AND our earned eyes need to decay. It makes phase transitions disproportionately punishing towards Dragoon because we lose 70-90 seconds of effort in fights like Yojimbo or Susano.
-Let Dragonfire Dive grant Dive Ready or give 1 stack of the eye opening directly (that way we can enter LotD faster but without the added DPS of a third Mirage Dive). This helps shave down the 90 seconds it takes to enter LoTD from the start of the fight and helps with achieving more LotD phases later in the fight.
Quality of Life changes:
-Reduce animation lock of Mirage Dive, make it similar to Geirskogul's. Also, change the timeframe of when the damage is dealt to later in the animation. It is weird how the floating text for the damage from Mirage Dive appears before the mirage lands on the target. It feels wrong.
-I understand Dragon Sight was meant to be used with other melee DPS, hence the 6' range. However, please let us activate the ability from 15' away but the tether will only form if the paired player comes within 6' of us. It's frustrating to activate from the Dragoon's perspective especially with manually targeting. If it at least had the range of -activation- like Goad, it would help

the MO macro works like Goad, at least mine does. I hate dragon sight, make its range 10 sweet potatoes (yalms) and call it a day. This way I can get a tank if there are no other MDPS. its borderline useless in dungeons.

I believe he is referring to the range. Goad's effective range is 6 times the size of Dragon sight, so mo works a lot better.
I have a macro for Dragon Sight that works perfectly for me. Be aware, this macro requires your enemy to be a focus target. I do this (focus target) at every boss fight anyway:
/micon "Dragon Sight"
/targetpc <--- targets nearest player character
/action "Dragon Sight" <t>
/party The eyes of the brood are apon us, <t> !
/target <f> <----Immediately returns my target to my focus target.
This happens in a blink of an eye and is flawless. As with any macro, ensure that you are not on any cool down since macros cannot be queued.
Just get rid of BotD. Give jumps their respective increased potencies. Make Geirskogul transition to LotD with 30 seconds always. Increase the potency of Wheeling Thrust and Fang and Claw GCDs significantly and slightly decrease the potency of the other GCDs, this way people won't skip them.
Does SAM sen and kenki go anywhere? No.
Does RDM white and black mana go anywhere? No.
Just make the freaking eyes stay already, there's no reason to make DRG players lose them.

I did some idea crafting, and came up with, what I beleive to be, a pretty good way to change lotd and nastrond...
Lets keep the eye mechanic in there, maybe change it from 4 to 3 or keep it at 4, its w/e for this idea. But Basically, I'd like to see botd change to lotd permanently once you geirskogul at the required number of eyes. Make lotd give either dmg buffs to jumps or combos or both. This way, once you get it rolling, it starts to build up to something greater. Nastrond would most likely have to have a potency decrease to compensate for lotd being up full time. Now to keep the eye mechanic relavent, why not just make it so that the number of eyes effects the potency of nastrond while in lotd? This way you can choose to use it early for phase changes or to go full 100% dmg on it when you get to full stacks...
What does everyone think?
I think LotD should simply be sustainable once it's reached and that gaining eyes while in LotD should increase Jump potencies by 10% per eye. Or a hundred other things myself, and plenty of other people have suggested to salvage this class
