    Messed up skills

Any one else have a problem with Stone, Stone II, Aero, and Thunder showing up as their higher tier skills? (exp. Stone showing up as Stone III when set to hotbar) I have tried everything from removing skills to making user macros to be able to use those skills but they still show up as and use their higher tiers.

    It's not a bug, it's a feature!

This was added with 4.0 to reduce the numbers of skills we have to place on our hotbars. As of now, there's no way to turn it off.

After reviewing the patch notes I do see it now. I would also like to add i feel robbed of throwing small rocks at my enemies as SE is now forcing me to throw bolders instead. I feel like this result could of been delt with more effectively by telling players "yeah just pull the weaker skills off your hot bar and use the stronger ones" instead of robbing white mages everywhere from their small stone tossing fiascos.

    ^ This.

The casting classes now have additional/adjusted traits that in many cases replace older tiers of spells with higher ones - for example Stone/Aero Mastery for WHM and Thunder Mastery for BLM. I believe the general intent was to filter out skills that weren't often used or limited to specific situations (for example you'd rarely use Stone I as WHM except to apply Heavy or conserve MP, and you wouldn't normally use Thunder III outside of a Thundercloud proc). In other cases, like Aero, it's more a case of them trimming down DoTs across the board - where many classes have lost their single target DoTs entirely, WHM had it trimmed back to one, automatically upgraded spell.

Generally the only spells that haven't received that treatment are the single-targets Fire/Blizzard tiers for BLM, as they all still play an important role in their Astral/Umbral mechanic.

I don't mind the change too much, personally - the loss of Stoneskin, on the other hand, I'm still getting used to.

I understand the why, dont get me wrong but im also the person who frets about when my mp hit that 50% mark. I just dont see why it should be a forced apon thing. If anything now im more likely to avoid my attack skills all together and just standby waiting for the next dps to stand in an aoe circle so i have someone to heal instead of dropping an attack for fear the fight goes south because john doe went and bite off more than the team could chew. And as a side note maybe some of us like tossing a pebble at dragons just to see if it makes the angry as a bit of funny to take away from all this. As for Aero and thunder good riddance! Trying to keep all those dots up is a pain in the rear.
