    If there is one other thing they need to to change other than the obvious one of removing stance penalty, is that they need to make all combo finishers give 20 gauge respectively. WAR got a soft nerf to dmg because now we spend most of our time spamming SP for extra gauge. I'm still mixed on the 6 FC and Unleash rotation for WAR as I've direct crit the the boss in the lvl 70 job quest for over 24k which floored me but I do agree that it becomes rather banal at times. Yes he had vulnerability up but still to see that dmg on a tank is something to behold. Will we see that in practice? I doubt it as Direct Hit is only attainable via melding.

    In short things that need to change for WAR:

    1. Remove gauge penalty. (we already have to wait 10 secs to switch)
    2. All combo finishers give 20 gauge. (you will most likely see more usage of Onslaught if this happens)

    I cant edit on mobile...
    No to the 20 BG for all finishers. Right now path is our highest dmg combo because it gives you 20 bg instead of 10. We have one buff combo - eye. We have one aggro combo - BB and we have one dmg combo - Path.
    If all finishers gave you 20 bg you could also just remove path.

    personally i don't think they're going to change it, for me SE seems more interested in keeping the favoritism for PLD going to make up for 3.x fiasco
    and i'm sure it will repeat itself in 5.0, the question is what job SE gonna make stronger than others when that time come

    It's disappointing. Been taking since 2.0 . Switched to war on 3.0 and I'm an active raider. War just lost everything and gained what? A gap closer and nerfed fell cleaves . As everyone already pointed. The instance change penality for war is the worst of all other tanks. There's no utility on it.
    But I think that's what square really aimed. Most statics I know are considering dropping war. But it's exactly what square planned I guess.
    I'm rather tired about ball this tank DPS discussion. Tank DPS changed already 3 times. Really? Can't they just define what do they expect of tanks?

    WAR is still better than DRK, which is the issue. PLD gained everything lost nothing, WAR and DRK especially lost everything gained nothing.

    Why would any group not run double PLD?

    DRK is in a slight better spot than WAR, at least in viability if not design. It should have nearly identical dps to WAR, but Blackest Night gives it a spammable cooldown even out of Grit (unlike Inner Beast) and also some utility to shield a party member. It's bad compared to all the party mitigation skills PLD got, but at least it's something compared WAR's complete selfishness.

    For me, it's understandable. There was a "problem" in HW with the STR vs VIT debate, and they couldn't drastically change the formula without pissing everyone, so they chose a consensus.
    Now that the level cap is increased, everybody's DPS will go up. The fact that it would have been higher if tanks still could equip STR accessories is irelevant, since you'll never experience the new content with that setting.

    One thing that would be interesting is to analyze how many times WAR could use Beast Skills in the past vs now, even when including tank swaps. I'm sure that, after a certain duration, the increase in Beast from Path and the new Infuriate may surpass the lack of penalty and the added effect on CD.

    I feel beefy as fk. Not going to lie, Im still pretty uncertain about how to play with all of these changes. I tend to kill very slowly, but I feel like a real tank. I wish i could kill faster. Whats the new main attack stat? Is it strength again or is it vit+tenacity?

    Ah, yes, forgot to add that I dislike the stance dance penalty.

    As I stated in that thread, I think the translator did a good job for on-the-fly translation, but I agree with OP's interpretation of "restoring to a previous state."
