Easiest fishing leves/collectables for leveling?

I'm finding it a lot more difficult to level fishing then in HW, as the catch rates for all leve/collectable fish seem really low and/or they're restricted to small time windows I'm yet not aware of.

I initially was using Rapids Jumpers, but eventually switched over to Sea Pickles, as with Veteran Trade in effect, you're guaranteed to get them.

Has anyone encountered something better?

Welp, I'm level 70 with Fisher after a little over day now, so I figured I'd share my leves/collectables I ended up using.

I did Rapids Jumper > Sea Pickle > Sea Fan for leves, then switched over Mitsuriku Shark collectables (Found in shadows triggered by Bashful Batfish in the NE corner of Ruby Sea).

Do you know what the best tackle to use is? Can i assume that it's the lvl 60 stuff, crane fly, brutes etc?

The old fishing lures actually don't work at all in the new zones from my experience.

Overall, the amount of different fishing tackle that's even usable in a given zone is much lower, but I consider that a good thing, because it makes narrowing down your options for catching specific fish a lot easier.

I largely didn't even bother with standard fishing, though, as spearfishing only has two or three possible catches per gig, and using Veteran Trade removes one of those, meaning you can get leve fish 100% of the time after you spear something undesirable.

Can't see the shark in my collectables log atm with lvl 66. Can you maybe tell me what rating it needs? Got some between 600 and 960. So i suppose somewhere around 900?

818 is the minimum rating for a turn-in.

I don't think it starts showing up as a turn-in until you hit 68.

still levelling but I chose not to use leves, I did only collectables. The Velodyna and Butterfly seemed awfully low, tried to go there where some sites listed good times, and still awful. The Killifish was OK, I didn't stay long there. I went to catch some Leve fish to sell in Yanxia the one river(east), which also had a chance to get yanxian koi. This is where I would recommend levelling up to 68 at.

Level 66 sea lamp leve (spear fishing). It is a VERY common fish on those nodes. I was there trying to get the minion, ended up with over 100 sea lamps in about an hour (still no minion).
