You are saying that RDM is able to heal party members too.. WELL RDM in its classic FF job role always was able to heal since the red mage uses blm and whm spells.. and performing a light support role. and now you come along to ask for a party member heal to become actually better instead of asking for getting back the abillity to heal the pet which would be more appropiate to the SMN job. Do you know what i mean by that?

Your point is invalid due to the fact Dark Knight is a tank in ffxiv and not a scythe wielding dps. What happens in old games doesn't necessarily apply to this one. Also I don't recall an FF game where a summon could be killed. And I can't name a single other class in this game that can have 25% of their dps killed.
It makes no sense to ask for Sustain back when you can already repurpose a spell summoner already has, and make it useful for any situation.

Thats one thing that Yoshida "fucked up" at this point.

Still the Dark Knight has his abillities which you expect him to have (more or less..) .. and still Dark Knight isnt able to become a healing paladin either. But thats what you are asking for. Well why dont we let all DDs have heal then? RDM has heal for reasons, he ever had access to all professions but not being perfect in any of these, still he has the dd role but i doubt that he comes close to the damage of a BLM.. and thats why to sub-heal may be a unique point why you still would get a rdm in... the reason to get a SMN into a party shouldnt be because he is able to heal in my opinion.

Ask for a decent pet heal instead of asking to heal party members since it even doesnt fit your role or job class in this game here either.

Not one for paying attention in class, are you? It's really simple. No ability to heal pet means pet dies faster.

WHY DONT YOU GET THIS?

ASK SE to get PET HEAL back... instead of having physick and that should be totally fine!

As already pointed out to you, virtually every summoner (like, ever) had heals in the FF canon.

As i already said before.

FFVII - FFX , FFXIII, FFXV. All had no job system!! EVERY CHARACTER was supposed to to everything! It was about characters and not jobs !!

The FF Online titles make use of the classic job systems of classic FF titles like FFIII and the tactics titles.

In FFXI (the only other MMO), white mage was pretty much a standard support job

THE SUBJOB!!! Summoner in FFXI couldnt heal at all except carbuncle with "healing ruby"

Why is it fine for Red Mage (a DPS) to have a heal but not Summoner?

That already i have written before.

Red mage as a FF job class always had access to every profession of magic (Black magic , white magic) and so also the access to cure. Though he cant do any of these in perfection. Same for the RDM in FFXIV, he wont do as much burst damage as a BLM but has the abillity to sub-heal (weakly) in emergency situations.
As for the SMN traditional job class it never had access to real except via its summons.

And no in FFXI as i said the summoner couldnt heal either.
And now granting all DD's heal.. would destroy the unique thing about RDM in FFXIV, too.

You know, I could be wrong...But that is what people want, isn't it? Even a trait to physick that has it heal bonus amount to pets would help.
