    SMN has been my main since it was introduced so naturally I played through it in Stormblood. So far I'm highly disappointed and can't see the forest for the trees with it. The two most crippling things are the loss of sustain and the overall lack of abilities prior to 70. Without sustain I'm finding it difficult to solo and certain fights are impossible to keep the pet alive in. I'm rather upset that this required ability has been instead implemented as a potion we have to purchase and carry on our person. There's no other battle class that has this burden so it feels unfair. If they wanted to avoid re-implementing the button itself, why not give the egi a trait which increases HP healed when the master uses physic on it?
    I don't mind the damage nerf, I think it was probably due to us. Before I could easily out damage the majority of my peers without even trying too hard. My main disdain at the moment is that the new summoner has no battle flow. I find I have an excessive amount of downtime prior to level 70 where in I'm doing nothing but a repetitive mash of a single button. I've run into many times where I just don't have any abilities available off cool-down and have nothing to actively contribute. This has made content under 70 (the vast majority of the game) a bit dull.
    At 70, the job just becomes a chaotic mess. I feel I have to stare at and flip through my cross bar a lot to get the most out of my 13 seconds of bahamut I spent the last few fights building up to. In the meanwhile things are happening about me that I'm having a hard time dividing my attention between. I thought all these changes were made to avoid this issue from Heavenward but it seems to only have introduced or exasperated it. I wouldn't say I'm angry about it, more so confused and a bit worn on it already. Currently looking for a new job to play

    I am not SMN at all but I do have a gripe with this job... Bahamut...
    We did some Susano EX yesterday and when Bahamut pops, it really makes it harder to see stuff... it's just... there and too big.
    When we need to be relatively stacked and mechanics are coming he is really a problem...
    He is not staying too long but when he's there we really need to switch camera angle and such to see properly... my poor lala...
    I am scared to go in DF24 with multiple SMN... gonna be a giant mess.

    He is a pretty good sized Egi isn't he? I kinda like his size though, especially in PvP he looks so intimidating!

    Sch had their mp costs increased and the mp return of Aetherflow nerfed.
    Every healer has lucid dream.

    Whm can reduce assize's cooldown by 20% and has a skill that reduces all spells mana cost to 0.
    Astro can also reduce the cost of spells by 25% with light speed, extend the duration of lucid dream or use an ewer.

    ....Really? WHM has Lucid Dreaming, along with all the other healers and Thin Air. AST has Lucid Dreaming and Light Speed that reduces MP cost. Only one for each job and then Lucid Dreaming from Role Actions. I suppose you could make an argument that AST also have access to Ewer but if you're desperate enough to pop Ewer over making an attempt to draw Balance or Arrow, something has probably gone wrong.

    As a SCH and someone whose main throughout HW was SMN, I agree.

    SMN's strongest side was obviously AoE burst, which took a hit. Single-target I haven't tested enough to be able to pinpoint the exact difference, but boy do I feel weak in 50/60 content.

    For all of those still in denial, let me make this clear. Aetherflow mana regen (and Energy Flow) got nerfed, the fairy healing got nerfed (especially Eos took two hits at once), Adloquium MP cost has been increased... So what we are left doing now is spam healing tanks who have also been made a mushy banana squish while relying on the Lucid Dreaming CD. The Cleric Stance is also a joke (5%, really?), and the only DPS help I get to do is, IF I'm lucky, spread my two poor DoTs and put down a Shadow Flare (unless, of course, the tank decides it's LAVA AND HAS TO IMMEDIATELY EVACUATE THE AREA).

    Are you damn kidding? A FF summoner isnt supposed to even have heal... Nor does this improve his dd role in any way. If the summoner should be able to heal then through a pet (e.g. carbuncle > "healing ruby") and nothing else.

    I love this FF summoner argument, mostly because it's so random. Of the actual true summoners in the main FF games, Three were pure SMN damage ((FFIII and FFV, ignoring the job cross-class system, FFXI, which did everything through the SMN), one had extra damage skills (Rydia) and 2-3 had healing skills (Yuna and Garnet, Eiko technically).

    So tell me, where is it forced to not allow a heal?
