On a positive note, our damage isn't just ok, it's pretty damn high just behind WHM and not by much. Eat your fairy after dropping the aoe regen and dps harder with all those extra drains![]()

Well, I'm in the process of leveling scholar. I'm 68 right now, and well, my opinion might change on some things I will say here. I main WHM (lvl70) and always liked playing scholar, too. Even though I was prepared for my WHM to not be so great this expansion... I was actually surprised that now it feels more fluid and powerful. On the other hand, scholar is quite disappointing. I still like it, but running dungeons with it can turn into a nightmare.
First, they did something really bad to scholar's heal potency. It's not the same as before. Before I could run with Selene, DPS, throw lustrate and shield, sacred soil if needed, and all was good. Now, I barely have time to DPS. I'm too busy keeping the tank alive, which is quite weird as scholar is supposed to be more DPS oriented... While as WHM, I am DPSing 80-90% of the time. This doesn't make any sense. I throw all my aetherflow stacks on the tank, and even use physick - spamming it. This isn't fun - and this is the only class I wiped with multiple times because of those things. Now, if a tank makes a mistake, it feels like I won't be able to fix it anymore, because my heals are weak. So I'm forced to run with Eos all the time now... I'm really wary of running another dungeon with scholar at this point
Second, about dungeons again... Big pulls are evil now with scholar. All I can do is... throw shadow flare if it's available, but it will only work if the tank is wise enough to keep the mobs on it and not move around somewhere else. Can't reapply it after it's gone... Do 2 dots on one mob then bane, but 50% of the time bane will only copy one dot. It used to be 2 dots, now it's only 1... Now back to tank dying because I dared to try to DPS...
Third, they messed up scholar's mp management. Now I have to take Lucid Dreaming to make it playable, when it was fine before as is.
Fourth, eye for an eye is weaker now, I believe. It has shorter duration time. For me, it's to take either eye for eye or divine seal. But divine seal won't work with healing abilities and Eos already has a version of it... add to that if I don't take eye for eye, deployment is going to be half useless...? Seriously, eye for eye doesn't belong to role actions. It's unique to scholar and scholar has a special ability just for it.
Fifth, that new 62 ability? Forgot its name... It's just a lustrate copy. It works the same way. We could have gotten something much better than this. Yes, I know it's intended to be cast on a tank when he's above 50%, if my shields were strong enough, it might have worked as intended... But now I just end up casting it on tank when he's below 50%, and it heals him like lustrate.
...It's just not a good experience anymore. Scholar is okay for trials though. Actually it's fine in trials... but for dungeons so far, I don't know. I know, it was op before, but there was no need to ruin it and nerf it this hard. Please, SE, fix scholar, don't let it die. Buff scholar's heal potency, make bane good again and less punishing. I loved Miasma 2, sad to see it gone :/ it was instant dot aoe.

Can we have consolidated fairy abilities, like 1 button on a hotbar for embrace that changes based on fairy, or like Whispering Dawn or Silent Dusk, ect
Embrace already is. Sorta. If you put Embrace on your hotbar, the button will work no matter which fairy out have out, it'll just visually be greyed out if you're using the "wrong" version.
And you can use summon macro which places pet abilities on any hotbar slots for each fairy - people have been doing this long ago.
Since SCH/SCH is the only duo healer setup that suffers somewhat from being together (WHM regens stack and AST can just be in different stances to compliment each other) how much opposition would there be to changing the way Succor works?
Say if there are shields up on targets already (from a previous Succor) when Succor is cast it heals its normal amount and then takes half of what it's shield component would have been and adds it to it's healing amount instead of shielding? This would be to lessen the detriment of having two scholars in an AoE healing intensive fight (Indom is great but has a cooldown and a cost so isn't always an available).
