    Cheating Death?

Probably very old news but despite playing for a long time... I just noticed this. Most likely because the open world in this game has zero threat what so ever...

If you die in this game, duty finder brings you back to life when you're done. PvP'ing while your questing and happen to fall off something high and insta agro? Just wait for that que and you're good as gold!

Sorry just found this to be hilarious. Not as hilarious as their mount campaign to get people to subscribe after all these issues...but still funny enough.

That... is a very saddening way of looking at it, and I won't be able to shake the thought now. D:

Only: You never actually die, you just pass out. At least the german description makes it clear that you faint, not die.
So the DF probably slaps a bucket of water in your face to wake you up - funny image though... a guy, with a bucket of water standing at the entrance of each dungeon in case his services are needed "Oh, another one whos actually already done for... *splash*"

Probably the way of the devs cheating not having to cheat death :P

As mentioned above, the player never actually truly 'dies' in the game, you're just merely knocked unconscious (this is why the effect is called 'KO', making the revival spells like Raise more akin to resuscitation rather than bringing someone back from the dead).

As for Duty Finder and Duty Roulette, that's an example of gameplay and story segregation, in that story-wise you're not going back to the same dungeon over and over again, the story treats it that you only ever enter a dungeon once and then never again (the only time you return to a dungeon is it's 'hard mode', which is why HM versions are set afterwards and show physical changes to the dungeon's environment). DF is nothing but a gameplay mechanic with no connections to the storyline of the game at all.

You're not magically turning the clock back every time you enter DF, it's a gameplay function that has no connection to the story and is ignored by it completely.

The Wandering Minstrel can send us "back" to fight stronger versions of what we fought before. You can think of it like every time the Minstrel tells our story to people, we get sucked back into the fight. When the Wandering Minstrel tells the story of us fighting Susano, we get sucked back in. If he embellishes it, we fight the stronger version, if not, then we fight the story version =D

That's how I think of it.

He don't send us back to the fight. He add extra details to the fight, make it more interesting. And only our mind go to his version of the fight, inspired by his song.

They should just make a skill where your character just have to step on the person's head to revive them.

^This. The 'Minstrel's Ballad' fights aren't the original battle, or even a 'real' battle, but just the player character's imagination fueled by their own memories of the 'original' battle and the Minstrel's personal embellishments to "make it more interesting." The DF description for them even states this outright, that "it is hardly an accurate retelling," and that listening to the Minstrel sing "you find yourself imagining yourself back at that fateful day in the Praetorium" or whatever. So yeah, the Minstrel fights are just in the player character's head effectively.

Well,i cant remember on wich quest i heard that, but i remember seeing a NPC say something like "we are not like you, when you die you come back to life, but when we die,its over,he looked up to you, tried to be like you,but he died, forever"

I remember i was really shocked,i though i was a hero bla blabla....but then i though that some "normal" people were looking up to hero of light, trying to be like them, but they have only one chance.
