Not sure what to do at this point.
Not sure what to do at this point.
I had that same thing happen to me, 3 times yesterday. no luck on getting a reply from the tech people either.
I had this happen to me as well today. I submitted a ticket. I hope they fix this before launch. I would like to continue playing and not be forced to cut my fun times short...
Also had this problem for the last 2 hours in The Peaks made it hard to finish the last few quest I had here, the crash only happened here and after about 2-4 mins. I have now been in the zone for about 15 mins no crash what I did was log out right after I got in, some were saying it occurred from crashing leaving or entering an instance server messing with your character's positional data and having the server kick you after a few mins.
I don't know what the problem is but logging out in the affected zone has worked for me, the servers going down tonight should also fix it I would think but something to try at least.
My friend is having the same problem
I'm also getting the same problem. I've had it for the last month and still cannot find a fix for it. This is happening with DX9 or DX11.
I am not sure it's a DX11 issue though as that crash is just the name of the executable.
I would potentially take a look at a fresh download. The process of patching overwrites and adds files and it could be contributing. I would also check to make sure you defrag as a good measure as well. Lastly the most common way of fixing the issue is a graphics driver update. I wish you the best in your adventuring!
I bought a new computer that could run any game on ultra and only had this issue running FFXIV on DirectX 11. To fix it you can just set the game to run in DirectX 9.c in settings. People don't think this solves anything or are too stubborn to do it but it worked perfectly for me
I have a friend who runs into this same crash regardless of whether they're running the DX11 or DX9 client. Anarkh is correct in that the only reason DX11 is mentioned in the info-panel upon crashing is because it's the game's executable reporting the error. If you're running the DX9 version, the client's executable is "ffxiv.exe". If you're running the DX11 version, it's "ffxiv_dx11.exe".I bought a new computer that could run any game on ultra and only had this issue running FFXIV on DirectX 11. Having said that, even if the DX9 client didn't suffer from the same flaw I would be hesitant to call it a "solution". The DX9 client is graphically inferior to the DX11 client and players shouldn't have to resort to playing an inferior version of the game indefinitely simply because of a bug that can and should be fixed.
