South America latency issues, 1 month post server migration. Any official feedback?

    Hello,

First, I think is necessary to note that, as Naoki Yoshida said, this game is playable up to 200ms latency.

Prior to server migration, players on South America were able to enjoy this game in a margin of 150-200ms ping. ISP companies were able to trace routes through Europe or directly to US, and still being able to keep those values.

Post server migration, the majority of SA players are experiencing an increase of ms, putting us between 250-300ms, or even more in some cases (like myself).

ISP companies related to Telefónica are routing through EU just like before, difference is that this time we're getting +100ms or more because of extra jumps localized in Spain, France and NL. For companies non related to the latter, they are going directly to US, but routed on nodes related to NTT, located on Virginia and/or New York, which is adding an extra 50ms or more.

Previous observations can be confirmed by checking the pinned thread tracerts. As I said, its been a month, and we're still facing these issues. Some people are resorting to 3rd party apps and paying more so they can reach previous ms values. This is clearly not the idea. To the community rep, I ask:

    - What was the idea of the pinned thread?
    - Considering previous question, is there any official feedback regarding this issue?

    Thanks a lot.

For what you said, the issue isn't directly related to Square Enix, but because the routing and how many nodes the data has to pass through in order to reach the new server, which from my understanding they should be closer to where do you live now.

Have you tried using a private/gaming vpn? WTFast, Pingzapper, Battleping are good examples and they have trial modes that may help you to test if you can reduce your lag. I live in Mexico and I used some of these programs to reduce my lag because my previous ISP was baaad! I changed my ISP (from Maxcom to Telmex) and the ping improved greatly.

Wtfast almost costs as much as the FFXIV sub per month. That is no option at all. I live in western europe and i am dealing with 200-230ms too, while i had smooth 100-110ms before. I already pay for a sub and all the extra retainers. I am not willing to pay even more just to end up at 190ms. Cause the lobby server still loses up to 40% of my packets and no VPN will change that. I want an answer too. They already got my SB money so i really wanna know if i will ever be able to enjoy my connection to the NA data center.

"Fault's" on both sides. Servers define the routes. ISPs at the same time defines the route coordinated with companies owning nodes involved. ISPs won't hear single clients. ISPs will listen to a company that knows what's happening. We're giving data that they officially asked on pinned by a community rep, tracert was also asked. Now tell me: Why did they asked this? If they have enough data now (which I, in part, tried to ELI5), why there isn't any official statement about this by the community rep after 1 month?

Honestly, I'm ok with a "we won't do anything, we made the pinned to keep threads in order" kind of answer. But an official pinned asking for specific data isn't enough after 1 month. We need answers and I'm asking 2 easy questions to the community rep.

Also, and finally, yes I use a VPN but didn't wanted to put that here for obvious reasons, and also this costs extra money.
