Bardam's Mettle is nothing more than a tutorial on how to dodge

This is the easiest fight in the entire game even dating back to 2.0, yet I've been in a number of runs here and have had parties wipe and heard of wiping repeatedly, and even had heated arguments with people due to them not paying attention. I get latency might have some impact, I did after all transfer make a datacenter switch to the EU, but I've heard horror stories and even witnessed them, in my discord people were raging because a healer refused to move and their logic was they could see the AoE during the checkboard phase so they just stood still and hoped for the best.

I think this game really needs to implement a ranking system similar to how overwatch does ranking, base it entirely off each person's own respective contributions to the group, I know that's never something this community would never go by, but when you see someone refuse to do a simple thing and their response is as ignorant, something somewhere needs to be addressed.

What? Granted, when my party first did that fight we were like what the hell is going on, but we dodged everything just fine.

That fight is great. It shows just how bad people are at the mechanics we've seen a billion times, and yet it existing may actually cause even a small number of people to improve. Honestly, they should've done that kind of fight sooner as a mechanics crash-course, but better late than never.

I've run this dungeon several times now with a wide variety of people, and as far as I can tell the only way to wipe is if all four players get Fetters during the same trial. I've had multiple runs where all three of my fellow party members will be caught in Fetters, but it just progresses normally since I'm still free and able to continue doing the mechanics. If you're wiping to it, sounds like you need to learn how to not stand in stuff, especially when said stuff takes years to actually go off. Seriously, this fight's mechanics are slow.

I've actually yet to see a wipe to it, in fact. Would definitely appreciate someone linking a video showing a wipe, as I would love to know what happens if it happens.

This isn't needed, plus it's not like said people will care what rank they are. If they don't care to improve, no amount of shame is gonna change them.

Right? The only way to lose this fight is if all 4 players get hit. I have yet to fail it and I run it continuously with new players to help them through the story. Sounds like OP just outed themselves out for their lack of attention to AoE detail!
