Tanks turned out to be incredibly boring so its time to reroll dps.
As the title already Says, i would like to know if somebody out there already knows wich stats i should look out for or wich materia i should put into my Gear as a Samurai.

Currently unknown, but I'm putting crit and direct hit on my samurai as I'm leveling. Just hit 64 today though.
Melee have always seemed to be crit>determination>skillspeed, but I have read that crit got a nerf while determination got a buff. Until the math nerds figure out what is best I plan to do a mix of crit/determination/direct hit and shun skillspeed. Skillspeed was almost always the lowest weight and can make you burn through TP faster.
my opinion is det > crit = direct hit > skill speed
not that my opinion means anything, but i doubt anyone will max skill speed, you dont need alot to take it under 2.0, and i personally think it makes more sense to buff all of your combo builders in addition to the iiajutsu. currently i can crit for 30,000, without gearing twards det which i will be once i get more 310 and 320 peices.. Again purely my opinion based on what i prefer - Id rather hit like a truck every 6 seconds, than hit like a wet noodle every second.
Thank you Kindly for the Answers! Ill try Det, crit, direct hit then until we know more![]()

The verdict is still very much out on this. Crit scaling appears to have been reset to go along with the higher stat numbers. Det was directly buffed. Skill speed was buffed but it appears as though they kept the scaling and now are allowing it to effect auto attacks (finally!). And direct hit is totally new so I don't think many people have an idea of how that stat will effect overall damage output.
As a safe bet, you could just stack crit and direct hit. But I think skill speed *might* sneak in as being a good choice for samurais because their damage output is largely unaffected by cooldowns and is heavily reliant on GCD usage.
Only melee class I would say for sure that already knows which stat to stack would be monk. Since their damage output is substantially buffed by crit procs. So monks can almost certainly start stacking crit now.
Also, tp is much less of an issue for all classes now in Stormblood. Aside from aoe rotations, I think most classes are TP positive now. And all melee can and should take goad. So there will be more tp regen going out. AND BRD/MCH can give mp/tp to party members (and to self) without losing damage. So there should overall be much less issues with tp in relation to skill speed. PLUS, all sen spenders for sam do not cost any tp. So they aren't a very heavy tp consumption class (aside from aoe spam).
In my opinion I think skill speed is top contender for best stat since the goal for samurai dps is going to be how fast you can get to your MS finisher and also building Kenki faster for guren usage. Just my current thoughts.
Or a little bit of both, depending on stat weight, Sam hit hard enough to make skillspeed relevant now that it increase auto-attack rate (remember 1.0 when monk auto-attack were the higher damage overall).
But yet, it all depend with the soft/hard cap, stat weight.
I'll probably gonna go with deter. Crit. and Direct-hit, because of our de/buff long enough to be reused without losing them, and i'd rather hiting hard than fast, because you know, numbers ;p
