This so much. I too main SMN, and I have never yet switched over to run as SCH, no matter the queue time.

It is no fun being main healer, for me.

I get - or got - jollies being a "backup" healer - pulled off many Tank saves with Physick - but that was before Physick was nerfed for SMN when 4.0 dropped. Now I can self-heal with Drain; and back-up Raise, but I took Physick off my toolbars, it's so ineffective at L60+.

I have ~30min DPS leveling dungeon queue's on primal as DPS - doesn't bother me because I can do anything I want open world while waiting...gathering, crafting, hunts, FATES, etc. I can even have my Chocobo buddy out with me I suppose if ALL you do is run dungeons then yeah, you are SoL right now...maybe get a Netflix sub too? lol

Pretty much. Chaining dungeons as a DPS has always been problematic and the problem isn't a Stormblood centric or specific one. The trick was to always chain with a tank/healer.

DPS queues were always going to be worse because they added 2 new dps jobs. And when everyone cried out "Well, at least it can't get worse," Square Enix stood up and said "hold my beer."

And then we got the balance changes.

And then they pissed off a number of tanks and healers causing them to switch to dps as well.

The OP is right. I don't know if anyone else has long DPS ques but it is bad for DPS. Most DPS don't mind the wait especially if they really want to main that role. I main PLD/DRG. Tried to do a level 50/60 ROU as DRG lol no not happening said I was above 50 and kept that number for 30mins. Anyway, there is nothing to be done about it. Even if they had added a tank/healer role (wish they did) It wouldn't really have made a difference. the fact remains that people who main DPS will still main DPS meaning DRG/MNK and so on would jump to RDM and SAM. If they added a new tank role only People who main tank would go to it, so just trading a PLD/WAR/DRK for a new tank.For My data center, My GF (healer) and I check PF to assist those looking for tanks or healers and we help without asking for gil. If more tanks and healers do this we can at least help the few that need it. Still, sucks but as I said more tank roles wouldn't change this In my opinion. No main DPS would see a new Tank role and jump to it before RDM or SAM. I know people are saying well there are main Tanks who switched over to DPS, well if that's true then that is indeed a problem, tho I honestly don't think those players jumped instantly. Like myself, My goal is to achieve level 70 with PLD then go to my other jobs. But That's just my opinion.

This is what happens when you only add 2 dps classes and 2 of the most wanted dps classes at that instead of the normal add one of each role. Granted i like the 2 new dps and the combat system i think we do need a new tank and healer, but before that balancing is needed.

But yea glad i picked AST, killing mobs in the field is painful but the que times are awesome.

If only they had not break WHM i'm would have probably stick with a healer but hey, "forced" to play DPS o have fun :/
