    On my data centre, we don't have this problem and it sounds utterly terrible. The one time in my entire PVP career I've seen someone AFK, I just vote kicked them and everyone agreed immediately. We have occasional base guarding but everyone is present and responsive, not leeching while running into a wall. I'm against only incentivising combat because it discourages people from playing tactically, like kill achievements rather than support achievements which make it impossible to get enough healers over an alliance (glad to see I can now snipe people on my healer regularly at last).

    Since Wolf Marks are only for show now and they've crippled anything that had any kind of prestige attached other than solo Feast rewards now, maybe only give Wolf Marks to the winners? The experience and tomestones should be more than enough reward for losing. I imagine this will die down eventually but some people will want to leech all of their jobs to 70 this way, and that will take a while.

    yes that solution would be great for helping people who already love doing pvp and have full armor and everything else. What about those who are new to it and want a fair and equal chance too?

    in other words its biased towards those who have been doing it longer.

    EXP should be the same regardless of who wins or loses if you want to incentivize participation.
    That's just it; that doesn't incentivize participation. It incentivizes AFKing and putting in zero effort because your effort gets you nothing.

    PvP in 4.0 has changed. Stats are set depending on class. The only difference is what 2 skills you choose from the PvP skill pool and 3 Traits from the trait pool. Gear does nothing, I go in with lv 1 glamour gear now and its much more fun. Its not hard to learn, any new player can go in and get the just of it from the 1st round and go in the 2nd round up to speed

    If someone Auto runs into a wall and then leaves it like that they'll still get kicked after two minutes if it doesn't detect another action being performed.

    Incentive for winning isn't a solution. Not when winning depends on so many other people.

    PvP simply gives too much xp for now. Why bother running dungeons or fates when you can get 600-700k xp in 10min with almost instant queues? Give less xp and only people who care about pvp and who wants an alternative for leveling their alts will use it. The others will return to Fates/dungeons.

    The queues are still long out of hours (I went through five hours of waiting two nights ago!) so the last thing I want is for people to return to the soul-destroying monotony of dungeon roulette when they could be PVPing and boosting my queue times. Please don't wreck things for people on data centres without a cheating epidemic - I'd rather the cheaters were dealt with more effectively and the legitimate new PVPers were still encouraged to give it a try. Encouraging active participation (and consequently, winning) for more rewards is how everything works in PVE, why not in PVP too?

    Sorry, by participation, I mean people actually queuing up. If people are penalizing for losing and they're in a GC that loses, you're going to have people not queuing or switching GCs. I assume SE put in a workaround for the latter, but there's nothing they can do about the former. Once you get someone INTO Frontline, you open up a myriad of ways to keep them from AFKing, however that works out. But the lure, and the lack of demoralizing outcomes to keep them coming back, still has to be there.

    Well, with EXP being equal regardless of result, you're just trading in one problem (lack of people queueing) for another (lack of people giving a shit).

    On my server at least, I don't really see any GC winning noticeably more often than the others, not since the advent of the "freelancer" option that I imagine the vast majority of people are using to try to get a faster queue.

    I agree, The EXP and Level change has made PVP much more active (YAY!!!!)

    But people just go afk or when the battle sucks... Needs to be like Heroes of the Storm, if inactive for a set time, you get booted.

    While I understand someone needs to guard the camp... some sorta fix on this is needed.

    Cant even go after Garo mount because of loss loss loss.
