Coming back, help me choose a class please :)

Hello, i'm thinking of coming back into FFXIV, i don't play since the patch of Void Ark (the first raid) i played ninja but i'd like to change class since i don't like the changes of 4.0

What do you suggest me to pick guys? Only healer or DPS, not tank

Astrologian for, by far, the most interesting healer design. Also, short queue times.

Bard for ranged, although people seem to love Red Mage. Bard is likely going to be the support lynchpin of groups, and is highly mobile again.

Samurai is the currently strongest melee DPS. Might be outscaled later by Monk and Ninja with better gear.

Maybe just try out some in Palace of the Dead...

BRD looks interesting with the song mechanics.
MCH looks like a new job.
All other DPS got more QoL and additions based on the previouse mechanics introduced in 3.0.

Can't say much for healers but it looks like the same like DPS, mostly QoL and additional mechanics.

Can you explain a bit more why astrologian is interesting? And Bard is going to be mobile again? i didn't know this!

AST can play in two different styles. You have the Diurnal which is similar to WHM and Nocturnal which is similar to SCH (without a pet). AST is a good class as there is always something to do as you have cards that provide buffs to the party. So, while you are fighting, you basically have a mini game of card-buffs going on. So, AST has flexibility and some support.

what about them? that there are too many buttons to press, that they are stupid looking, that they are not strong enough ...

you might dislike other jobs for the same exact reasons if we don't know why you don't like those new skills.

I wrote a long answer before but i accidentaly closed the browser before answering xD

The short version is that i don't like the summoned frog and it seems a bit boring

For now i'm undecided between dragoon, astrologian, bard or the 2 new jobs
