Super choppy framerate/lag after a while of playing then unexpected error

As the title says, I am getting super choppy framerate and lag after a while of playing and sometimes it'll crash into an unexpected error (1) for no reason. My PC isn't slowing down at all and FFXIV is the only program that seems to be affected. For some reason, this seems to happen when FFXIV gets to around 1.6GB of RAM used when looking in my Task Manager.

I'm running a 660TI with most recent drivers, an i5-3570 and 8GB RAM. I'm running low-medium settings on DX9 as I've always done since 2.0 but I've never had a problem with the game like this ever prior Stormblood.

And it's not a RAM issue because I have more than enough left over to run even when FFXIV is taking up 1.6GB.

It seems to happen more or less when porting into an area. Be it on the aethernet shards in town or map to map.

Update - I've also noticed that during this lag spike, the CPU usage jumps up around 10% or so and hops around until it goes back to its regular under load.

The game has a small memory leak or something similar, this is a fairly common issue.

This was an issue on AMD cards too. The workaround for that is to disable "LOD" in the settings.

Both LOD settings? I can see why that would be the issue though

Sounds like what I've been having. Not experienced this before Stormblood.

I can play smoothly for a few hours (haven't timed it yet, seems to be about 3 or 4). Then the game suddenly goes into slideshow mode, and back to normal. Does that a few times and then crashes with an unexpected error if you try to teleport.

Having to restart the client every few hours is getting pretty annoying, especially during heavy queue times.

Specs: i5 4570, gtx1080, 16gb

I'll try disabling things that mention LOD.. but wouldn't that make things prettier? Oh well.. wouldn't be the strangest thing to have worked.. I'll see tomorrow.

There is a massive lag spike on PS4 systems right now as well. I couldnt even teleport out of "Quarrymill" to a safer place that wasnt "leaking".

I've run disabled/enabled LOD settings and there's still the same problem. YoshiP pls.
