Player search feature update. Supposed to be a joke from SE?!?!?!

At 12AM Pacific time, there is roughly 585 logged in around Besaid. Your results may vary but here is a way to get an estimate of how many people are in your server at any given time:

Do a search region by region. If results show too many, narrow the search a little such as filtering by online status, location, or level range. For example. Thanalan, Ul'dah alone even, made up at least 1/3 of the population in this search. Numbers may be slightly off as people log in/out, change areas, or even classes. But it's a good way to get an estimate on how many people are in your server on average.

The big issue I have with the player search feature is that it's not server-wide. You have to be in the same area as the other players looking for parties. This isn't an issue if all you're doing is staying in Uldah like everyone seems to be doing (due to the poor region/city design). You can't be soloing off in Camp Bald Knoll and bring it up, as it'll come up completely empty if no one's in there looking for parties.

Otherwise, I don't know what problems you're having with the party search.

Give it time, I am sure at some point it will be. I think they did a good job on the search feature and it was jam packed when I looked at it for like 30 seconds on Wutai. They will add typing commands for it later and will probably expand upon things or even go with a better system in 2.0. At the very least they have something there that can be used if enough people bother to use it, but most people run with a LS and play with said friends especially when servers aren't so populated.
