Error 3102 Club, Order of the 52nd Hour
SAM does not use NIN gear. It uses PGL/MNK gear.
Back to OP,
and if you're going to buy a 60 boost, buy it for a job you'll actually want to play at some point. Why buy it for NIN if you don't like the NIN playstyle when you could buy it for something you're actually interested in playing later?
Is there a tank or healer that you've tried that you might find fun when you want to do a quick roulette and don't want to wait in queue as a DD?Should answer that.My Question is: If I buy the lvl 60 boost and boost a Monk, pick up the samurai class can I just continue my MSQ at lvl 33 where I left it of with my ninja without ever worrying to be underleveld for the next part of the MSQ? And do I start at lvl 30 with my Samurai (which would totaly be cool) or am I lvl 50 now? :O
Catch 22...
If you have a lvl 60 toon and want to roll either of the new classes, good luck because the new class will be lvl 50 and to low for stormblood missions.....also, if you have finished all content through Heavensward...where are you going to find missions/quests to level the new level 50 class....this is the situation I find myself in at present, rolled the Sam with my level 60 Bard and cant figure out how to level the Sam.
I don't think they thought this out to well, their concept works great IF you are currently level 50 lets you continue grinding levels to 60 where you can take stormblood quests....
sucks to be me...and others too I'm assuming
PS, I don't want hear "do fates for 10 levels"....
Palace of the dead is your friend, If you have that level 60 class, or even just class that's a level or more higher than your current one (lvl 50 sam), you get immense exp bonus after finishing the floors. Queue time is quick, within minutes if not even within seconds, and you can later on get a level 60 weapon out of that, even tho with the SB expansion right now, you won't need it since you are getting it from the MSQ itself. Give it a try, specially if you've finished the HW content already and just want to level that new or any other jobs further down the line. It doesn't take long to get the 10 levels.Catch 22...

Here's the other problem..if you start a new character with the intention of turning it into a SAM and you purchase the level 60 boost, say, a monk boost so you can use the same equipment on the SAM....you are screwed....you have level ONE....everything, no duty finder, no teleport ability....NOTHING....AND no money if you happen to be FC'less......no access to market, and everything that is contingent on a quest, mission, anything that requires to do something FIRST....your screwed...
basically, I don't know whither to shi* or go blind, and I'm almost 100 US dollars into this nightmare
You're really not screwed, because you have all the quests to unlock all that stuff. You'd be able to go through the entire quest line from 1 to 70 as a samurai. Sure, you'd be massively over-leveled for most of it, but there are a lot of people who don't really mind that. At least it means you can just go through everything in order without hitting roadblocks when you need to level up for the next part. And for people who want to play through the game as samurai (or red mage), they can.
How are they screwed? They have a horribly over-leveled and over-geared MNK. They can solo almost every 2.0 dungeon and trial with that. Don't even have to wait for bad DPS ques. Just go in unsynchronized.
Do that until they hit Copperbell mines around level 17 - and then go grind Palace of the Dead with SAM up to 60. Then, pick up where they left off at level 17 MSQ content.
It took me one day to take SAM through PotD from level 50 to level 60. Granted, that was a long day. It also includes the fact that the DF was toast for most of the day.
If a person does the job boost potion and decides to opt out of the story skip potion, they're going to have to go through the motions of lower content.

You wouldn't even need this part. You don't have to be level 60 to do level 17 quests. There wouldn't be any level grinding involved as 60 levels worth of quests will give more than enough XP to gain those 10 levels.
