Alphinaud and Alisaie are 16 or possibly 17.

But they're still very short, for Wildwood (?) types.

Are they and their family, just unusually small-statured for Elezen?

Or is the Elezen growth and development cycle, just that different (longer) than Hyur and others; and the twins are due for a growth spurt?

I'm figuring they just got hit with the short stick. Thought If memory serves me right their grandfather wasn't that tall either. Don't quote me on that though cause that part of my memory is fuzzy

Elezen age slightly slower than humans and don't have their growth spurt until around 20ish. Louisoix seemed plenty tall to me. Lalafell in contrast grow older, but don't really visibly age past maturity.

It is said that they're 16 years of age when they embark for Eorzea at the start of ARR, I heard in an interview somewhere that around the time of mid-end of HW two years have passed. So technically they should be around 18-19 or something like that.
It would be appreciated if they started giving Alphinaud and Alisae some growth spurts in the coming patches. It would be fun to see a small difference everytime until they eventually looked like mature Elezen. But we'll see if SE is brave enough for that haha.

The interview i read a year and a half ago was an old one close to launch when Heavensward was about to be released, the interview had taken place during a convention of sorts. I'll try and see if i can find it again.

When we meet Alphinaud and Alisae they are confirmed to be "sixteen summers old" right before they depart for Eorzea where they meet the WoL.
So if that rule (link #1) applies i suppose Alphinaud and Alisae's models wont change and their ages will remain ambiguously "16-19 years of age" throughout future expansions as our adventures progress, a shame really, I'm really hoping that they consider changing their models in small increments between future patches for immersion.

Yes I remember that thread due to posting in it. I thought that the instance with Minfillia mentioned more time had passed so I was going through the storyline again and it didn't say 2 years had passed when we were moving to the waking sands.

I'd love so much to read that interview because I also remember reading one or a live letter from the producer or something where he said that in between heavensward and 2.55 was only a couple of weeks in the making. It would be nice to show their age progression but alas it's a shame.

I confess one of the primary reasons I started wondering, is because of the awkward, shy scene and dialogue between Alisaie and Urianger, when he presented the new rapier. Is there a ship about to sail?

No idea how old Urianger is, but sans cowl and goggles, he is unexpectedly handsome. Heh.

Urianger acts as a sort of steward to the Leveilleur family, as well as Louisoix's apprentice. His relationship with to Alisaie is a little different, but it reads to me like a doting, big-brother figure. The two are clearly very close, but Urianger's language doesn't hint towards a romance so much as high respect.

Basically, he treats the twins like nobility, the twins treat him like family.


But, yeah, the twins are both shorties as well as being pubescent in Elezan terms. Although I, too, would love to see them growing bit by bit in the patch-cycle as they are pushing late teens/early twenties range at this point.
