So when are bans being thrown out..

For people that abuse the work around on the afk timer? I know I know, I'm on Balmung, why aren't you transferring off of Balmung then, and all that worthless tripe people throw around, but when it gets to the point that you see several people unable to play, and the /only/ choice is to play at hours that nobody who actually has things to do in the real world can play? Maybe SE should stop having a hands off approach and actually do something for people constantly abusing said work arounds. Or boot people off of the server so they get stuck in queue. One of the two. I've had enough of seeing it in 2.0, 3.0, and now 4.0. Where people did this on a regular basis just so they can stay on for incredibly selfish reasons.

Yes I'm mad. No, I'm not going to transfer off of a server I was on since 1.0 just to get an immediate 'gain' for a long term loss.

They don't really ban people for this. Besides, how can they tell? I can do the workaround in my FC house, and you would not be the wiser to my actions.

I can't blame them. They probably waited for hours too. Why would they wait for over 2 hours again?
Today, I waited for almost 3 hours and after a while had to go make dinner so when I came back I had to wait for almost 3 hours again. It is not people's fault, it is the company's, so if they started punishing selfish people because they were greedy in the first place, I would be really disappointed.

How? By not being hands off anymore. By not being secretive with what they're doing (or not doing in this case) and only popping in when a problem occurs enough times to upset several people. Not just randomly warping in to check a problem out of someone's view to see what's going on. By doing what GMs actually did before. Being active and doing what they do in force rather than pretending everything's fine til a mass influx of reports comes in.

Do they have the manpower for this? No, not really, it's quite plain to see. Should they make an example of people who are caught doing this? Absolutely. I'm just venting at this point, to be honest, but seeing a problem happen since 2.0 isn't helping much.

As I posted in another thread, if the AFK timer weren't circumvented, the timer wouldn't be three hours long. The more people cycling out of the game at any given moment, the quicker the queue moves.

    As an example:

Friday, Early Access, First Day, before the AFK Timer Circumventing was really in full force: 2800 people in queue. Time to get into the game was about... 30 minutes or so.
Sunday, Day Three: The AFK Timer Circumventing seems to be pretty ubiquitous: 3400 people in queue. Time to progress 1200 people: One Hour and 30 minutes.

See the difference? The very behavior they are exhibiting is only worsening the problem they are trying to avoid. If things played out like they were supposed to, then we wouldn't be looking at the wait times that we are, and neither would they.

The long waits will be gone in a week or so. In a month or two the masses will have left as well.

There are free server transfers off Balmung. If you are so attached to the server then deal with your queue times or your fear of abandonment. The latter would be better for your health.

Once again you didn't explain how you'd enforce this. You want GMs to go around banning everyone who happened to go AFK while crafting or interacting with anything? I'm sure that totally wouldn't have a lot of false positives. The point is that you can never prove intent. You'll never know if that guy crafting AFK is doing it purposefully, or if they got called away for something mid craft.
