Making me redownload the entirety of ffxiv after power outage

So yea, this is happening to me as well as a few others, I've noticed there hasn't been any replies for a fix from anyone (SE included) on the previous thread so I figured I'd start a new one explaining the happenings.
So I was watching a cutscene in one of the new areas when my power went out. This has happened to me many times before in the past yet this time was the only time it asked me to redownload a patch and not just the stormblood one, but the entirety of the game. Now on top of dealing with the other problems this games launch has encountered, there's this.
I'm in the middle of redownloading the 22gb update, which will take about 5 more out of 10 total hours but I've heard that the people this has happened to, keep encountering the same issue and I'm wondering who else has this problem, is there a fix, and what other information people/square can about this

Honestly I'd like an answer. I have a bad internet with low download speed and this is very upsetting, I was playing normally when my power went out for a moment and then I had the 22.7 gb file to download. It took me a while to download Stormblood so this would take even longer. Someone said this was being looked into but we never really got an official answer and so far this just adds up to the fact that we're havingg to download the whole game again.

I am currently on my 2nd entire download now....first was a power outtage as talked about. This time i even shut down ps4 in safe mode (knowing i was going to bring my ps4 somewhere else) where it tells you it will be safe if unplugged and no need to do a check on hardrive on startup....Please address this and fix, or give me a magical potion that gives all my toons ilvl 1000 gear and max cap lvl of 300. .....and i want a little baby brother tooo...Please just fix this stuff!

OMG I've seen 20 of these threads, all about power outages. Did a power plant somewhere blow up?

Yall probably have some files that got corrupted bc of the outage and FFXIV installer can't scan each and every file for damage, so if one is found or missing, maybe the installer re-installs the entire game to ensure all corrupt files get replaced.

No, a power plant did not blow up and power outages are quite common in 3rd world countries. I've had many power outages happen to me while I was playing and I've only encoutered this problem after Stormblood was launched. We were never asked to download a 22.7gb patch before. Also it also doesn't help that some of us have a bad connection speed- it's enough to play the game but it takes hours to download big files like this one; to me it took around 12h.

I'm actually theorizing that the update somehow cause a surge with PS4s playing this game somehow, mainly because my PS4 went off and nothing else in my room went off. Also that a bunch of these threads popped up suddenly.

I'm skeptical and really unsure about how it could possibly happen, but it did and the amount of other people it happened to is a tad bizarre.
