Once you're in the same zone you can use the teleport within the zone safely. Me and my partner would walk across the boundary line to end up in the same zone, then use the teleport within the zone to cross faster.Yes, I realize that. But you can't teleport anywhere once you're in that zone. If you get disconnected or log off and log back in, then you also often end up in separate instances - which necessitates hauling but across to a zone line, zoning back in, and then running all the way back to your questing area. It's absurd.
Same thing happened in HW. I play with my girlfriend and it's annoying having to go to the previous zone and walk through the zoneline to switch it to the right one if instance roulette puts us in different copies which is like most of the time. Once I'm in the right copy I can just use a teleport within the zone to cover more area faster. Zones that require using NPCs to enter or leave, you also can't choose the instance copy either which makes it even more annoying.
I'd rather it just keep players in parties together when zoning and move them to the lowest populated map of the three. If all the maps are full, default to the current behavior.
Agreed, I wrote a post about the same issue and was told I was attempting to use some form of loophole exploit, when all I wanted to do is be in the same zone as my wife. It needs to be remedied, how social is a game that deliberately separates friends and family attempting to play together? Can we please get an option to manually change our Instance channel in zones? Or at least a menu option when I right click a party member to join their Instance. Any MMO with split-zone functionality has this option, because it's a pain in the butt otherwise. As it is, I'm pretty much always playing with my husband and we can't teleport anywhere or risk getting put in a different instance.
I'm not sure how this made it to live without one, but please add some way to manually join another's instance!
Bumping this because every time I leave the House of the Fierce my husband and I get split up.
SE, you've had like 2 years to not half-ass his instancing thing. Just let us join the instance of party lead or something...

Well SE simply just doesn't understand the meaning of things like not half-assing stuff, what upgrading servers normally actually means, or the fact that DEVs should normally actually test things more properly before just shoving it off to the live servers.
Or to put it all more simply. Half-assed is SE's middle name.
