    Option for Pet healing

    Me and a friend were trading summoner stories about all the changes and one thing we came back to was the loss of sustain and how it impacts using Titan specifically. Yes he's one of the most underused pets, but with all the leveling solo grind going on with the expansion I've been using him alot because ifrit and garuda either can't hold threat or die was too quickly.

    Long story short, and grumbling/salt aside...we came up with at least something that would alleviate the pet healing issue:

    Have Physick use your INT stat for the purposes of healing your pet. Simple as that. It could just be a trait, or something unique to a summoner's version of the skill. Egi are tied to INT for their attack damage anyway, so why not have them be affected by your physick in the same fashion? Lore-wise it would make sense...a summoner understands an egi's aetherical structure better then anyone and could heal them much more potently but still be terrible at healing non-egi targets.

    That would be a neat thing. I too play Summoner and I am rather disenhearted by the loss of Sustain, which was great to maintain your pet. Without it, the Titan-Egi becomes even less useful to use. Yes, you can use Drain to sustain yourself, but you can't sustain your pet, which is troublesome.

    I still wonder why they didn't allow Summoners to have their Physick heal with INT, much like Red Mages can with Vercure. One possible reason I thought is that they simply can't do it because Physick is also tied to Scholar.

    I had been wondering if perhaps Summoners could get some kind of trait that change their Physick spell to something else, like a 'new Sustain'. That way if it becomes a new spell, it can use INT as its base stat for healing instead of Mind like Physick currently does.

    I'd personally be happy with a trait that does "Swap INT and MND stats when healing your summoned pet with Physick" or something along those lines. It would keep it limited to you specifically being able to heal it like that...so other summoners wouldn't be able to spam heal along with you for balance sake.

    It might be easier to just give Arcanist/Summoner pets something akin to Convalescence. Rather than trying to tweak Physick or our healing ability, just give the pets a trait that improves HP recovery via healing.

    Preferably a permanent improvement, rather than a skill/buff, just for the sake of sustained survival.

    Although, hm. That does have the problem of being affected by all heals. Might not be balanced in the other direction. And I don't know how well they could separate out owner heals vs anyone else.

    I wonder what was the reason for the removal. Assuming it had to do with SCH, one solution might be bringing Sustain back but making it SMN exclusive. It would align a bit better with all lore aspects involved as well, imo, or at least the flavor of all jobs and classes. SCH can heal their faeries and the faeries can heal themselves. ACN might not have something so 'advanced' in their kits and aren't meant to be used in endgame anyway. SMNs having it makes a world of sense - but again, that's following a simple assumption about why it was removed in the first place.

    This is also something I would really want to know as well: Why was Sustain removed?

    I know they wanted to 'trim the fat' and remove unnecessary elements, but Sustain wasn't exactly something unnecessary. It was a rather very useful tool for SMNs to quickly use to keep up their pets' health in the middle of a fight if they took severe damage. Sustain was an easy 'fire and forget' tool to use. Pet took some serious damage? Use Sustain and it should recover.
    While it is true that Sustain enabled Titan-Egi to be really tanky and thus allowing some nice solo capabilities for the Summoner, Sustain also had its limits. You could easily end up facing enemies that would hit harder than your Sustain being able to keep the pet up. So it wasn't an almighty OP heal in a sense of speaking.
    Especially since even if pets take almost no damage from AOE abilities, they are still susceptible to cleaves and similar attacks. And the problem is that trying to keep constant control of your pet's position in the middle of a fight would be an absolute nightmare.

    We need sustain. Our ability to perform solo content has been drastically hindered by this loss. A lot of mobs hit VERY hard and dismiss titan with ease then proceed to kill us with even less of a problem. Titan egi was designed to be a shield and, like all shields, they need something to help keep them in form. The only way to even try to do stuff is to just enkindle and blow all your flows asap to get into dreadwrym trance and then set off 1-2 ruin llls then deathflare and hope that killed it. If not then you just are reduced to spamming ruin lll outside DWT and your ruin lV procs.

    Physick should upgrade to Sustain for Summoners. Its useless for us anyway so rather than add Sustain back it should replace Physick all together as a trait once you unlock Summoner.

    All this talk with Physick and Sustain, in all honesty, I have never, EVER used sustain, even back in the day when I was an ARC. On PS4, never had it on my hotbar.

    If you NEED sustain to perform Solo, then you are doing it wrong. Also, Physick is just there for SCH, its a joke heal on SMN.

    They dropped the spell that was least used by all SCH, SMN and ARCs. And that was Sustain.
