Thread: Request to Delay 4.0 Housing (Read First Please)

The servers are overpopulated with players who will not stick around in-game. After a full month of players getting fed up and leaving, housing will be wasted on players who no longer play.

Benefits to waiting on housing:
+ Less competition from people who won't stick around
+ Less crazy queues of 1,000 to 5,000 players (read: housing purchase RNG)
+ Less angry players for server crashes
+ More developed community areas who stick around
+ Commitment to the committed player base
+ More opportunities for established FCs to develop community areas

We all know the craziness of Stormblood launch will die in a month. Why put players in a position to compete with them?

I am fully aware that houses are demolished when inactive, but why even have to deal with that level of competition in the first place, and wait at random times in front of houses hoping they are decimated?

There is no 4.0 housing. New wards won't be open until 4.1.

Unless they stated otherwise somewhere I haven't seen, we only know they won't be available immediately at/before launch.

As far as competition goes, it's going to be high regardless and with more time there will be even more competition for the larger houses of which they did not increase numbers in Shirogane.

Huh. Coulda sworn it said 4.1 when I read the patch notes. It is now just "future update."

I submit that competition may depend entirely on server. There's still dozens of small houses across all the wards here on Mateus. One or two Mediums, when I checked around. With a whole new area, plus people moving over, I don't expect to see everything full up here. But you're right, Mansions will probably be where the rush is.

Mateus is filling fast with people coming over from Balmung. True there are a lot of open small houses and a few mediums, but I am suspecting a lot are waiting for the new district. I am thinking Mateus is going to witness its first housing bloodbath when these open.

I am inclined to agree.

I'm anticipating that the opening of Shirogane is going to be a nightmare. I can remember the last time I saw an open house on Sargatanas, and I do check semi-regularly for friends/curiosity. I really wish SE would come up with a better solution for this, but at this point I doubt we will ever see any major changes to the housing system besides occasionally adding more wards or zones.

Although with Omega Savage coming out in a month I think all of the devs attention is going to be on that. I wouldn't expect Shirogane to be opened until after then.
