You do know that it was a design choice that got us all these problems? So them solving the problem they created themselves should make us thankful? With barely any communications and telling us to simply wait? Also I am getting tired of Yoshida getting all the praise..there is a full team behind him that creates glamour, music, instances and more and its probably the IT guys that "solved" this. Yoshida is only the most known person of all of this but without his team he would not be able to do much. So should he get all the hate too? No! But as a producer and director he surely was one of the people that said yes to the story and decisions about it, so he should have pointed out that there could be problems.

Anyway I should not be surprised anymore. SE can really do anything and there would be still enough people that would be alright with it. The gaming industry itself seems to always get of mistakes way easier than other industries..

I mean would you say thank you to the one that designs your house, makes a mistake in it, that they should not even have made since its a beginners mistake and he is professional, and then he after some time makes it right again. No you would be annoyed, frustrated and maybe even want a compensation for it.

I think most people here forget this part. The whole compare of someone fucks up your real life house isnt valid here, in a digital product that we play to have fun and/or relax.

And we still pay for this game! Also yes I have played other MMOs before so I know that there are crashes and stuff like that. Barely anyone would complain if we had some crashes and maintenance but the problem was created by SEs own design choice. They choose to place two long solo instances at the beginning of their MSQ, they also choose to gate everything behind those MSQ and instances are shared between servers of a datacenter..I am quite sure that this would have been way smoother if they did not introduce solo instances that early and if they would have unlocked a whole zone without the MSQ..so yes the horrible EA launch was completely their fault and could have been avoided. So no I dont see a reason to thank them for solving a problem they themselves created..(and did they truly solve it or was is just something that solved itself after quite the hours itself? The only maintenance they had was because of the ruby sea bug)

Also WoW has learned from their launches and it seems that their Legion launch was nearly flawless. The expansion before that was horrible and they gave five days playtime as a compensation. So yes the real competitor of FF14 is seemingly able to get it done better.

If they would have said something like " We are sorry for this issue and are working hard to correct it" instead of their initial advice of "try again later" the customer response would have been much better. The PR blunder might have been bigger then the bad design (of putting solo instanced content so early in the story).

Dear Yoshi I forgive you, thank you for the instance, and other bug fixes. I honestly believe you did all you could, and it's not fair for people to be mean toward you, though I do think we all had a right to be mad. I just wanted to thank you for giving us more instance space, and effectively removing the worst problem. You haven't seen the worst problem unless you're experiencing what a lot of us console users are dealing with right now. Launcher bug problem that forces you to re-download 22gb file every time you try to log in. Worst problem to you guys is congestion, we can't even play.
