So, since the patch is going thru now, I decided to write a post based off of what I've been reading about a lot the past couple hours. Been a LOT of ppl complaining about wanting to change GCs and races once new ones are released. And of course, can't forget about SE starting the monthly payments soon.

Now, I'm a seasoned MMO player. The good/popular ones anyway. I played FFXI for about 4 years then hopped to WoW for a few years. I've seen the way that both companies work and thus have formed my opinion on these matters.

Sure, changing GCs could form a storyline problem. Many ppl I've seen do not agree with it at all. Then there are many who don't like the idea of ppl being able to change their race/gender once the new ones are released. So I propose SE does this to quell everyones complaints/trololols by first off not starting the monthly fees. Instead of this, make GC reassignment and race changes cost real money off the SE website. I'm sure there are plenty of players out there that would jump out n pay $10-25 for these services. For GCs however, it would basically abolish any progress the PC has completed with any of the 3 GCs and force them to start fresh from the Imperial Devices quest.

Changing race/gender is solely for vanity. All SE would need to do is change what the PC is and swap male gear for female gear if necessary. Now on top of this, SE can offer an additional paid service for name changes as well.

got my vote i've been looking SE to bring out name changed for ages mainly the rest server change and all that i agree with to it would great help to people who want to play different kind of way or under a different name.

Well we're going to get a free race (and possibly gender) change once 2.0 goes live, but after that I feel if people want to change that again it should be paid for.

GC change however, I feel should NOT be paid for. If there is a significant difference in the storylines between the different GCs, this should be something that everyone should be able to experience. Maybe people won't care for my comparison to FF11, but in that game you could swap nations by paying a gil fee. If you were max rank the cost was 100000 gil. Perhaps SE could heighten this fee to like 1000000 if you really wanted to swap. That way people could experience the different storylines, and it'd also create a gil sink.

Again, this should only be done if there's some drastic difference between the GC storylines.

GC stands for Grand Compaines, the 3 towns compaines that you can join at level 22.
