This is, of course, a completely ridiculous thing to say. Of COURSE they care about the players! Players is where all the money comes from! They care very, very deeply about the players and will try their best to be known as a company that cares about its players and works to try to please them. Negative press is something they want to avoid. As a business, the bottom line is always about money, but in the business that they are in customer relations are a VERY important part of that bottom line.

Unfortunately, they are only human, and humans make mistakes. I'm sure they anticipated congestion early on - there's ALWAYS congestion at the start of an expansion! - but I think they underestimated just how bad it would be on this early MSQ instance. They acknowledged that it was an issue, and managed to correct the problem after two days of hard work.

Expansions are a very high-stress period of time for MMOs, and there are bound to be problems. This is something that anyone who signs up for early access - for an MMO or ANY game, really - needs to be aware of. I think it's pretty admirable that SE was able to do as much as they did to correct things. They may have not gotten things fixed immediately, but it's completely unreasonable to expect that. Hasty fixes, even if possible, often cause more problems than they solve!
