If that was true, they wouldn't be working to fix the problems during a weekend, which they are.
This is, of course, a completely ridiculous thing to say. Of COURSE they care about the players! Players is where all the money comes from! They care very, very deeply about the players and will try their best to be known as a company that cares about its players and works to try to please them. Negative press is something they want to avoid. As a business, the bottom line is always about money, but in the business that they are in customer relations are a VERY important part of that bottom line.
Unfortunately, they are only human, and humans make mistakes. I'm sure they anticipated congestion early on - there's ALWAYS congestion at the start of an expansion! - but I think they underestimated just how bad it would be on this early MSQ instance. They acknowledged that it was an issue, and managed to correct the problem after two days of hard work.
Expansions are a very high-stress period of time for MMOs, and there are bound to be problems. This is something that anyone who signs up for early access - for an MMO or ANY game, really - needs to be aware of. I think it's pretty admirable that SE was able to do as much as they did to correct things. They may have not gotten things fixed immediately, but it's completely unreasonable to expect that. Hasty fixes, even if possible, often cause more problems than they solve!
I find this a blessing in disguise. I thought certain people were my friends, until they were giving me a lot of hate/trouble because I managed to get through the bottleneck while they were stuck. Even though I had no control over it.
ok, bye lol
seriously though...ppl acting like spoiled brats tbh
i ain't even mad if ppl like that leave, better for the rest of us to not have ppl like that to deal with
is just game
OP, "...in the last two days has affected your playerbase..."
I do not recall giving you the consent to speak on my behalf, nor do I agree with your message posted.
I do agree however that we have a rocky start, but at least on Hyperion(hopefully other worlds too) things are improving and moving along. So, it took some time, but I still get to enjoy the early access of SB.
Cheers,
D.
If its splitting up friendships, it sounds like all parties involved are immature brats. Sorry, its a GAME. Get over it.
If you've played over 40 MMOs over the years then you'll remember when WoW released Cataclysm and you'd end up stuck unable to log in, sometimes perpetually, and how it would crash often? How it took them a couple of days to fix that kind of stability and meanwhile you'd often get stuck in hours long queues? I remember. Sounds an awful lot like this since I couldn't progress for a while then either. Or what about when WoW released Warlords and it took FOREVER to build a garrison with server crashes galore? Took better than a day to progress then too.
I'm not saying that SE gets a free pass, I'm just saying that it's pretty much par for the course. Did it suck, yes. Has it gone on too long, yes. But it's not unique.
That's not what I remember at all. Server stability was great from my memory. I even played from launch and got server first priest in like 12 hours maybe? If you've played over 40 MMOs over the years then you'll remember when WoW released Cataclysm and you'd end up stuck unable to log in, sometimes perpetually, and how it would crash often? Anyway on topic I logged in Friday morning for a few hours and hit the wall and stopped. Since then I'll play a little and try again and then just get off. It's really not the end of the world.
I was pretty upset until this morning when I finally got threw Raubahn and Pipin. Honestly I hope a lesson is learned here and this doesn't happen again. My anger however is almost all gone and has given way to sheer joy in the new zones and the continued MSQ. I'm going to forgive but not forget, please in the future plan better for these things so people don't feel so upset.
You haven't experienced 2.0, me thinks. That was the worst pain in the ass.
Now put the whinebottle away and play. Mistakes were made, but they're actively attempting to repair the issue.
Do I need to link the video of where Yoshida had a emotional speech due to Early Access from A Realm Reborn?
