If anything Balmung would be moved. You're twice the size of us lmao.I don't mean move you off greg man. I mean a third data center where greg is moved as a whole to. Love you guys but AETHER ain't big enough for the both of us.
EDIT: And just saying the popularity this game has shown more then qualifies for a third center. A big population is a good problem to have so let's roll with it.
Either way. I doubt SE would move Balmung or Greg. That is a silly notion.
a 3rd data center though? Maybe not so much.

Hey I'm good either way. I assumed Greg would move as I thought the lesser pop makes it easier to move. But I'll admit I have no understanding of large scale computer stuff. My expertise is in biology.

and That's what I am saying we dont need to add any new servers just move some of the other servers to a new data center to take the stress off the ones we have. Having both balmung and greg on one data center is just ridiculous

Won't likely happen unless server populations equal out. As of now, they just look at the distribution and say they don't need another center, players just need to even out.

It would certainly make more sense to have three datacenters located by region (East, Central and West).
That won't help the bottleneck through the instance servers as they are common across the datacenter. Being able to spread the high population servers across datacenters should help the bottleneck since they would no longer be competing for the same resources.

Funny thing, the morning conversation between the hubby and I was about how they should of split the NA data to alleviate load. Dunno if that would really happen but would imagine it would make it easier for the dev team as well to deal with issues then having 1 mega cluster?

Balmung, Gilgamesh & Leviathan all need to be on different Datacentres (Aether, Primal & a new one) with the rest of the worlds spread across the Datacentre in a way that balances load. Primal is too overloaded so I can only imagine what Aether is like, having those too overloaded worlds on it.
Effectively, a complete new set of servers are needed. It'd be a chance to have a new East Coast USA Datacentre too, if it was beneficial.

A new set of servers were installed.... that's what a data center move means. Leviathan was added to the overpopulated list alongside Gilgamesh and Balmung. Looking at the census, Excalibur, Behemoth and Hyperion will be next.
There's too many people on the NA servers. There definitely needs to be a third data center.

A third data center to split up the servers NA has might help. Adding servers would help... For a month... then all that came to play leaves once again bringing most of the servers to mid to low pop status.
So ya. A third data center, but I doubt doing more than that will be a good idea in the Long run. (Also I suppose upgrading the darn things. Blizzard's servers are boss compared to these... I don't remember the numbers but 20k people seems small compared to theirs and Legion had to tinker with amount allowed vs not allowed to keep the servers from imploding.)
