can we address the elephant in the room? Square knew perfectly well the exact number of people that preordered SB, so why are we treated like unimportant customers?

and yoshida going out and saying "it's working as intended" is adding insult to injury, this is unacceptable, we're paying customers and nothing is being done, we're past office hours, the servers now have minimal people working on them, no fix will be done until tomorrow

why didnt you prepare the server for the amount of customers that preordered SB?

You can't 'over prepare' because if it turns out it wasn't needed you've just wasted time and money. You just gotta look at the numbers you think you'll pull and say "I think this is good..." and it either is and everyone's impressed at how smooth your game launched good job or it isn't and it's the worst thing that's ever happened.

servers are RENTED, the amount for having extra server space for 4 weeks is anecdotal at best, we could have had a great smooth experience if SE used an extra 40K, this is bad REP, now we know not to trust square, and that yoshida doesnt really care

The thing is, FFXIV has NEVER had a good launch. Not in 2010, and not in 2017. Maybe over preparing, just a little, may have been to their benefit this time?

why didnt you prepare the server for the amount of customers that preordered SB?

They can have an estimated number but not an exact number. There's also no so called office hours, specially in cases like this, and since the servers are not hosted by SE it selves, I can assure you that there will be 24/7 service provided. I am sure nobody is sitting around doing nothing, and while I know its super frustrating but speculations are not going to help the situation.

No. They had the exact number of registrants. They can then estimate as they will what portion of those people will play, and they apparently undershot this estimate by a gross margin.

Ok but there have been so many times where things were clearly wrong, we got the "working as intended" response, and then they fix it later.

You have every right to say "Square, this is not working at all and you need to fix it or I will take my money elsewhere." But square isn't flipping you off and messing up their game on purpose just to make you mad. That would be beyond stupid and a huge financial loss for them. Take a second, breathe, and walk away for a bit. It's quite possible that with the amount of issues the game has, they are trying to bundle all the fixes as one big hotfix instead of 20 odd hotfixes.
