/wave! – How many of you adventurers wave their hand to unknown travellers?

Hello, adventurers!

I've recently completed a journal entry where I talk about the /wave emote. Yes, a whole post to talk about the purpose of waving my hand to unknown travellers while I'm in open fields or dungeons, and how this made me meet many new nice adventurers.



To me, that's the most basic thing, say “Hello!” to others if I'm, like, lost in the jungle, and I don't expect to receive a /wave back, I do it because it's part of my Adventurer's Spirit.

So I would like to ask here to a wider range of adventurers from other Worlds: How many of you actually wave to unknown travellers if you see them on the map (open fields/dungeons)?

My World, Bodhum, is a very friendly one, but I've yet to catch 1 adventurer who doesn't already know me (or my Subligar) to be the first to wave his or her hand while in open fields/dungeons.
And no, the culprit is not my Sugligar!

If you're out there in your World, whistle here, it might come in handy to know there're others similar to me, if there are any, particularly when the Content Finder will be introduced. ...And if you don't already /wave to other travellers, you can always start from tomorrow!

Well, I don't know how many, but I do from time to time.

This is nice =) I don't personally wave to strangers on the road, but if I notice them soloing and in need of a heal or a buff, I throw them a pro/shell/shockspikes/stoneskin.

i dont do /wave i do /kneel, mainly to show respect if i dont no u or i do i still kneel to random people, but mostly to my own LS, for were knights and Knights are very respectful.

In most cases, I /bow to keep in the form of the knight roll or just a friendly traveler. Any sign of respect to your fellow adventurers is a good thing.

I often separate emotes this way:

/wave = known ppl
/bow = random ppl and JPs
/poke = friends
/pose = closer friends

...and some perv /emote for known naughty miqs =D~~~

I mainly just talk shit to random people then they blacklist me pretty fast when they cotton on.

I bow and wave to people standing still
But if you pass someone riding on his or her chocobo while you are also on your chocobo, it's kind of hard to even read the name, that's how fast people are gone again.

Looking at your screenshot though..I bet I'd be running away if I saw a stranger dressed like that when I'm lost in the wild.
