As someone that socially games in real life there is always a person that shows up at conventions and tournaments that everyone knows. It maybe he is the guy that tries to measure an extra inch, nicks the edge of a card sleeve, smells like bad shrimp wrapped in a diaper, or does some frowned upon social behavior so they become a species of celebrity. Not by name but behavior, they become the TFG, usually refereed to with a sneer, roll of the eyes, or heavy sigh as "Oh, that %&#*ing guy!" This is my own meager effort to help fellow players in Eureka to not be a TFG.
Realize there is a living breathing person on the other end of the keyboard/controller. They just like you have decided to dedicate time towards this and do not deserve the same treatment you would want.
1. If you can raise someone raise them, there is no reason anyone should have to return back, change into a healer and raise a party member when half the party are healers.
2. If you are standing on top of someones corpse, do mot insist they flag it or you will not raise.
3. If someone shouts for a raise and they are less than a two minute hop you should at least make an attempt to raise them, not leave them begging and becoming frustrated. It takes a few seconds and you saved that person a lot of aggravation at losing work they had put in.
4. If you have people who are under-leveled in your group help them out by offering rides or staying near them in case they draw aggro from a higher level mob. Do not do things like pop out your two seat mount then take off when they ask for a ride or approach. You where all in their position once, you should show some empathy.
That's just what I saw today, people complaining about toxicity in Eureka need to realize that it is self inflicted. It's not fun content but it should not be used as a carte blanche excuse to be a jerk. These people that are fellow travelers and have nothing to do with the game design.
Have a wonderful day, wonderful people.
