Ifrit used on Sic generally.
If you want to optimize, use Garuda but have her on Sic to start with then when Contagion is on CD, put her on Obey until Contagion is about to come off CD again, then put her onto Sic again. While swapping to Ifrit and using Obey > Radiant Shield and swapping back to Garuda again during downtime.
It's a bit of a faff, but ultimately a DPS gain, especially if you line up Contagion with other burst CD's (Which is the intent for using Sic, as Garuda will use Contagion faster than when you use Obey and mash the Contagion button while yelling at her to do what you ask...)
But honestly, while you're still learning things, just use Ifrit in Sic as it's much easier to deal with since it's entirely passive.
Hi. To set the stage I rarely do savage or extreme. Thus I rarely use obey.
opinion: Until you are trying for ultimate DPS sic is fine.
I use lfrit or garuda on sic in dungeons and raids. I've read that lfrit does slightly better DPS but I prefer Garuda. If there is another summoner I will bring out the one they aren't using.
Guides can be confusing because how the pets work has changed much between ARR, HR and SB. Back in HW days Garuda on obey was the answer because contagion was so powerful. That got nerfed.
I agree with "while you're still learning things, just use Ifrit in Sic".
FYI: If you die (and hopefully get raised) any difference between lfrit/garuda/sic/obey is lost.
Thanks so much, I've wanted to continue playing my SMN, but was getting told I HAD to put my pets on obey, and it's just to much for me trying to keep up with MY spells much less the pets spells.
Were you told this in a dungeon with Garuda out? Garuda on Sic will use a knockback attack that is annoying if she's in melee range of a mob. You don't have to put her on Obey but you should definitely Place her out of melee range so she doesn't make it take longer to kill things.
Error 3102 Club, Order of the 52nd Hour
Radiant got nerfed as well finally - so getting used to Ruda Night might turn out over Sicfrit like people already said. Tho it’s just for to month until everything will change again...
Ruda on Sic is kinda annoying in Dngs... random Con and even more annoying: pushback... pls don’t use her like that: /
Garuda is normally on Obey so you can use contagion at the right time. Ifrit is Sic. If your group is melee heavy I would use Ifrit and if caster heavy, Garuda. Also on dungeon trash mobs I just use Ifrit until the boss fight.
I like having Ifrit on obey just so that I don't need to rely on a random tank or melee to stun things.
But this only applies to casual dungeons.
Raids, follow all the above advice![]()
