It's the Early Access Weekend, the game isn't even officially out yet...

EA =/= beta. The game isn't officially out when it's in a testing phase. This is not a testing phase, this is, in all honesty, the official release. As was already mentioned, most of the people who will be playing on the 20th are already playing because we all had so much time to pre-order. We are supposed to be getting early access to a fully functional, fully working product. You people need to stop using this as a defense for this disastrous launch, because it's really not any sort of defense at all. :/

That said: I'm incredibly sad too. I was so hyped for this. I was going to stay up all night, rocket up to 70 all this weekend, geek out over the MSQ... and I'm stuck doing not much of anything. I'm playing old content, and that's when I'm NOT getting 90k'd from it. The new jobs are nice, but that's about the only thing I can play of the new content right now, and that's not even what I was most hyped for. The thing I was most hyped for was to explore, experience new battles, and experience the new story; all of which I am gated out of. It's very frustrating, and very sad.

I was looking forward to this weekend. Instead, I'll just have to wait until "whenever" for this to be fixed.

It's at least good to see that it's not just everyone being angry. Some of us just wanted to play the game we love and the game we paid for which as of right now we can't do.

I'm not even mad. It's just that all my hype for this expansion is gone at this point. I'll still play, but I'm not really excited to continue like I was when I first logged in for EA. It feels more like we're getting small incremental patches of content, instead of an expansion. We just got patch 3.6 and as a community, we're currently waiting for the next content patch past Raubahn/Pipin. Diving into a huge dump of new content is where the hype is for me on expansion releases. The hype was in how much we were to get all at once. That intital thrill is gone and it feels like we're already in a patch cycle, waiting for the next patch. I honestly would've enjoyed this expansion more had I waited. You don't get a second chance at first impressions.

I don't mind the random disconnects and server hiccups, that's to be expected for any MMO launch, but this complete inability to progress through the MSQ (and subsequently the vast majority of the expansion) is just depressing.

If the issues were purely contained to Stormblood related content you would somewhat have a point. But are you telling me content like palace of the dead and Sastasha are included in the early access?.

THIS. I heard of people having issues entering Stormblood instances, so I thought I was playing it safe by entering Palace of the Dead to exp until the issues were resolved.

... Instead of properly entering POTD, I got 900002 errors, and then got stuck in a horrific endless loop of errors and wait queues. Try to enter game, wait 10-15 mins for the queue... only to find that once the loading screen appears, get a 900002 right after it and booted back to the main menu.

I literally couldn't even get back in the game to try to boot myself out of POTD... literally was not able to play any part of the game, so I gave up after over an hour and did something else.

This whole weekend launch is a farce.

Agreed. I'm not going to shout and whine about it, because it's just the way it is now, but I've been playing everyday, for over a year. I've taken sprouts and returners under my wing to help them get to this point. I got super excited that I was all caught up and ready to go, because for the longest time I was a silly little sprout that couldn't do the cool new things that were coming out in the patches, and it really sucked being the one that had to sit and watch everyone have fun with it. And now it's here and... it's like being a sprout again. Like everyone except me is getting through it. The sprouts and returners I helped are already in Stormblood, they're talking about how cool everything is and "just keep trying, you'll get there eventually." I've been trying for almost 7 hours straight today. I got up at 2am when the servers went live, and tried almost all day then as well. At this point it's like salt in the eyes watching all these people talk about how amazing it is and how much I'm going to love it.

I'm just depressed and tired now. Sure, they're probably going to fix it in the next few weeks, but that initial excitement? That's never going to come back.

Edit: and tbh I even understand why they have that instance. You remember the "content gate" everyone has been demanding? This is it. This instance is meant to weed out the jump potion sprouts that don't know what they're doing (once it works properly). It's not hard for someone who's decently competent at their job, but it's not something an idiot can pass. So, I think it was a good idea, but they executed it poorly.

I was angry at first. Now I'm disillusioned.

I logged in within 60 seconds of the servers opening up and I was one of the first people to cross the threshold into new lands. I was excited to get to be a part of the first big push into high end content. It took less than 30 minutes to hit this mess of a gate, and I can't even get in to try it.

So I was mad. I tried the new jobs, I played around finishing side quests, I did some fate farming, I got some aether currents. Now I'm bored. I've spent almost 20 hours over the last two days just trying to get into the solo battle instance. Stuck, unable to progress, and sinking slowly from unreasonably excited, to mildly thrilled, to agitated, to unhappy, to angry, and now to absolutely apathetic. I don't care anymore.

As excited as I was, and as good as it seems so far, this expansion just isn't good enough to be worth wasting this much of my time for. Seriously considering taking a break for a few weeks and seeing how I feel then.

Very sad atm. Been here since beta so experienced this all before but it still is dissapointing. Lost interest in the game quite a bit now.

While I have been extremely disappointed in how Early Access has been, and continues to be, there is nothing more disappointing than the community right now. Specifically the White Knight/Fanboys. People have voiced legit concerns and grievances but apparently to them, SE can do no wrong. Those that complain are met with a very elitist attitude that helps no one. The ego of these White Knights is astounding, they make the Blizzard Drones look tame in comparison. I've never seen such a bunch of degenerates in all my life...and I've been on the lowest depths of 4chan. Each time I see one reply in a thread with their smug attitude, sitting on their high horse, I just sigh in disappointment. They are truly the worst part of what has been happening during this entire Stormblood Early Access debacle.
