We have confirmed this issue with the development team, and they are putting high priority on continuing to investigate how to resolve this for players.

At this time, it seems that the situation will require a resolution via the client itself (through updating the version). As such, we expect it to take more than several days to resolve this issue, including the time required to create the patch.

Well, while it's nice to know that they gave us a response, it actually becomes a major issue to those who have paid for early access. The fact that it takes SEVERAL DAYS to resolve an issue like this means that those who got into the areas early for Stormblood would be no different than those who got it on the 20th, only exception being if they bought Collector's Edition, etc. I may sound entitled, but I do not mean to make my message across like that.

If Square Enix's FFXIV Development Team takes until the 20th to fix this issue, it's heavily recommended for emergency maintenance to happen beforehand because this is effecting EVERY ASPECT OF THE ENTIRE GAME AS A WHOLE(except for open-world).

Client Crashes, Characters becoming Bricked, and even Instances becoming unavailable and also forced disconnects within said instances. It all piles up.

I want to propose solutions, at the very least:

    A) Throttling players seems to be causing the issue that everyone has been encountering, along with the design of bottlenecking through MSQ Duty Battles. If possible they could just tell the masses to form lines. JP has formed lines and they've eventually throttled everyone through; I don't know why NA/EU can't do the same. It'd at the very least cut down on the amount of server issues instead of making the problem significantly worse as it is right now.

    B) Take down all NA/EU Servers for Emergency Maintenance regarding this issue and refund time based on what was invested from Game Time. This was the solution in Heavensward, but the servers crashed and had very long maintenances trying to figure out how to get back online. At the very least, it would take stress off the servers and allow the Dev Team to look into the issue and focus more on that than splitting resources on keeping the game up for players, since currently a very small percent of NA has been able to get through without instances bricking them or denying access to the new zones.

    C) Possibly invest in servers to increase server capabilities and prevent server overload when it comes to instances. FFXIV has grown to have a gigantic playerbase on competition with WoW, and I would assume that FFXIV's Servers are more than capable; however, there comes two different ways to look at it - Short Term, the servers will be able to take on more load but installation and connection with all other NA Data Center Servers may take quite some time. Long Term - More Server Space to be used for Instances, as well as potentially whatever else the XIV Development Team can think of.

What about the fact the game crashes when I read a GM ticket?
What about the fact of the slow loadtimes of using other duties and crashes trying to load you in?

Why is the game still up and breaking nearing the 48 hour mark?
Where is the communication of plan layouts and projections of when it will be fixed?
Why cant they just let us skip for now?
