    Choosing server for English speaker

    Hi all,

I am new here and was wondering which server would be better for a SEA player here. JP server would be an optimum choice but language is an issue and I see Tonberry is the only recognize "international" server, though there is an character creation restriction.
On the otherhand, NA/EU would mean timezone and latency issue. Is there many SEA/Oceanic players on NA/EU as well?

FYI, character creation restrictions actually cycle. You can check that here:

The NA servers have been moved to the US Pacific coast so that has helped a lot for our Aus and such players that play during those times. As such, you can try those.

I play at odd hours because of work, and i can confirm that my server has players from all over on it. We have europeans, we have americans(ok, obviously), and i know we have a contingent of aussie and new zeelanders. My advice would be to find a mid-population american server and make a character there to play with for a few hours. If the latency is acceptable(and since the NA servers are all in the same location there shouldnt be a huge difference from one to another) you can give it a go. If the latency is too much, then watch the creation restrictions. They update that post every 5ish hours, though the servers update in real time. So while the post at 8am might say blocked with another update 5 hours away, its entirely possible that at 11am itll open up and let you make your character. While waiting you could make a character on one of the preferred worlds and try to get up to the level where they give you 15 days of free time.

Is it due to SB early access thats making it full? What about after the wave is clear? I just created a char on sargatanas, is it the same too?

I was briefly on Masamune once and there were quite a few English-speakers there. If you need to be on a Japanese server, choosing Elemental or Mana world groups should at least mean you can use the shared Party Finder with the English-speaking community. I prefer full Japanese so I'm on Gaia but it's a hard life for anyone who doesn't speak the language over here.

The lag playing across the world is also not that big a deal so long as you don't have other Internet connection issues. Definitely try out the US server idea; if you're not pushing for world first a high ping needn't stop you from clearing hard content. Just requires even faster reactions

I play and main in EU server for a long time, and I met a few friends from SEA as well (including myself). Well, as long as you have a good or stable internet, you can try EU server especially 2 new server Omega or Lousioux(?).
my latency (before early access congestion) is about 200-250ms and I can kill titan or other high-end content.

Yeah, I tested out the ping in NA servers and it was around 200ms which is the ping I played ESO and survived well. It would be a bonus if I can play on JP server but meh, I can't speak jap lol.

If it helps my ping is easily 300ms++ and I can clear stuff like Titan EX just fine. When I go to events and play on local servers, I feel as though I'm cheating having so much reaction time before big attacks :s
