Stick to a tank and have fun.0 Melee DPS are useless. Not only is there no CC, but now casters can cast while moving and can melt you while you sprint and use movement abilities? What's the point even? I don't understand it.
Seriously what is their role even supposed to be? Skewer? We definitely don't do enough damage to merit being so handicapped compared to everyone else so I legit don't understand the game design of melee now. Just walk off from our LB and we lose it, heal all you like I can't stop you. Even with the teleport and sprint you can't escape a BLM burning your back on SAM.
Maybe Yoshida just wanted to have a good time on his BLM, because if the goal was to crush melee into oblivion you succeeded.
0/10, would go lower. Its no-skill, no-balance mashfest that every single PvP game I have played does MUCH better. No communication possible, extremely bad balance (there is basically 1 class per role that is strong enough to win, the rest are garbage ) and its ruled by pre-mades because they can get around the stupid chat restriction by being on voice comms.

Samurai and Ninja both feel about the same and are pretty decent. Samurai's core is the same as non-pvp Samurai. Without mudra combos, Ninja pvp takes a bit to get used to. Monk is just like non-pvp Monk. It needs some reworking to fix it up. Please add a Throw Stone or Air Bullet to Monk. Wind Tackle is our only "range" attack and that's on a 30 sec cooldown.
Instead of pvp traits, I would have preferred it to be a job action switch out. A few actions can be swapped with another to give you customization. Let use Monk for example. You got Form Shift which gives you Grease Lightning OR Meditation which gives you a Chakra. Somersault opens a Chakra OR Axe Kick which give a Grease Lightning instead. Wind Tackle OR Earth Tackle. I understand the concept of making everyone playing the class the same but if you don't like how your favorite class plays, you don't want to play. You do need some customization and not the barely noticeable traits

Thought about this for awhile before posting in here and I tried every job for multiple games as well to try and understand the balance.
The game basically got the moba treatment where each skill is much more important, the cooldowns are shorter, positioning is much more important, and synergy with other players in your group is more important. Anyone complaining should step back and think to themselves how much wasted time was in the original design with things like heavy thrust and disembowel while other things such dps being able to 100% others almost instantly due to random crits is gone as well.
A few things I can say is in frontline melee dps is really hard to play in particular drg since they lose all the work they did if they disengage for too long compared to mnk and nin. Concentration needs to block draw-in and knockback along with all the other CC immunity as well to help reign in the tanks mildly.
7/10 solid foundation w/ room to grow through additional skills/traits.
after tryed a lot feast4vs4 till i reach gold, now i can't get games because there is not enough ranked for me get a pop,
And the result of revamp of the pvp won't change anything.
New players skipp the tutorial. press less button won't change the skill gap between players.
I remember this fact from other games, make things easier from Street Fighter IV to Street Fighter V don't remove the skill gap at all. its a exemple. its not the same game genre but the result is the same.
You can't get the experience, the awareness, just because you have to press less buttons.
especialy when tutorial is skipped.
When some players don't want to learn anything and just want play brainless, push less buttons don't help at all. If you don't want to learn, you learn nothing, say tanks to captain obvious/.
About the balance, i notice this : war is weak, sch broil is overpowered when less pressure happen.
I liked more pvp before SB offcourse, but i think the revamp is not too bad only if se keep promise of tweak the balance between jobs.

Saddest excuse for PVP. Solitaire has better PVP mechanics.
One change I did kind of like is the auto-swapping crosshotbar. Before that, I actually had a macro that would reconfig all of that. So that was cool not to have to deal with that.
As far as gameplay? Not sure on the limited amount of abilities. Maybe it would have been nicer if we had all of a job's abilities available, but maybe be able to only group a few together to suit individual playstyles. Whatevs... I can see the current setup getting boring real quick for a lot of folks.
3/5. And mounts are still too damn slow for the larger maps.

Also make it if you set a limit break you don't have to keep changing it each time you change jobs.
