Why are people wanting like 15 days free time for this? If anything, give players back a day or two - the days it took to get rolling on the MSQ.

Stress testing a server in terms of player volume is quite easy. Datacenters do it all the time, as does my company. Look at it like this...from the game's perspective (the code) players are all just entities, the more entities the more stress there is on the servers underlying hardware as it takes more processing power and ram to render said entities as well as the environment for said entities. This can easily be replicated since they had the exact amount of people who purchased the pre-order. They could then fill the environment with entities (which can be done, it's the same concept as an npc) to see how the server will react under load (also as a general rule of thumb when running/setting up any server you want to account for at minimum a 15% overhead in resources needed).

These are basic procedures when creating not only games but anything that has a server to client relationship. The procedure hasn't changed in over 20 years, so no clue why they don't plan ahead and follow a proven procedure that works. SE isn't the only one guilty of this either, so I'm not saying it's just them. I'm saying that these kinds of things shouldn't be happening, and if they do well then you should fire your staff because they shouldn't be anywhere near a server. Now nothings perfect and things do happen but it also says a great deal about you and your company in the way in which you deal with it and update your customers.

I'd expect at most a few days might be compensated, similar to how Blizzard compensated people who attempted to log in during the first few days of Warlords of Draenor when their servers all collectively crapped themselves from the sudden arrival of almost eleven million people after years of just under six million.
All in all? This is annoying, and people have a right to complain. Doesn't mean they need to have fraggin' panic attacks about it and act as though it's the end of the world. If anything, I'm glad it happened now and not on the main release date; hopefully, they'll have a fix out tomorrow.

..? Then why even bother to quote my original post with something completely irrelevant? Yes, I pre-ordered with the expectation of a functioning game. Yes, early access influenced that decision. I don't understand the point you were trying to make, if there even was one.
The point was you're complaining about pre-ordering a game when you would've bought the game anyway. The only way THAT makes any sense is if you JUST wanted to buy this expansion because it was pre-order. TL;DR - you made a dumb statement and I pointed it out...? Then why even bother to quote my original post with something completely irrelevant? Yes, I pre-ordered with the expectation of a functioning game. Yes, early access influenced that decision. I don't understand the point you were trying to make, if there even was one.

Pre-ordering a game is buying the game what are you even on about?
And yes, I said, "glad my pre-order money went to good use" to display contempt for what I view as an unplayable game so far. I paid for new content, and se didn't deliver.

It's not just Susanoo I've been locked out of the game for about half an hour twice now, after the level 64 main story duty and level 65 job quest duty gave me 90002 errors, can't play my main period.
Friend/recruitment code for special items and things (use before paying first sub) RACN78W5 (updated) info on items here http://sqex.to/Cz9 code is entered via the mogstation.

There most likely will not be any compensation because this is early access. This is not the official launch day. While not beta, early access is still a way of stress testing servers and early content, Because they need to know ahead of time if the game will be stable on the launch day for the entirety of the playerbase, not just those that decided to come in for early access.
Does it suck? yes. I'm stuck with the majority at the moment. Even with the content block, this is still a VERY good launch. I've seen mmo and xpac launches over my decade+ of online gaming that were so horrific that they caused damage to some peoples' computers, but were still successful in the long run.
My only issue at the moment is the lack of communication. I'm sure they is drowning in complaints and trying to figure out the best method of resolving the current crisis. They will get it resolved once they test things from their end. They can't just paste something into the game and it magically work.
Technically? They did deliver. There's a server issue stopping most players from delving into story content. You ARE however able to go to the new lands and have access to the new classes while the devs work on fixing the server issues. Again, am I saying it's okay for these issues to happen? No. But belly-aching over it and crying about it is asinine and a waste of everyone's time, including yours.
