Legitimate question: How are we being compensated for the expansion atrocity?

As much as I think the EA shenanigans suck the tail pipe - I don't necessarily believe we should get compensation.

That being said: if the compensation was the sort of turn around Blizzard did from WoD's launch to Legion, I would say that it was paid in full.

This is going on 24 hours now being gated at Pipin. It is utterly ridiculous that so many people are locked out of doing content. Tbh, either free game time or a partial refund of Stormblood would be nice. This is literally unplayable and a trainwreck. "Be patient", se says... glad to see my pre-order money went to good use.

I am disappointed in this development team. They spent so much time salvaging this game and being so hesitant with change. Then this!!! They make themselves look like jokes. You're right they aren't gonna compensate us like a special I'm sorry minion. But what they lost is my trust and I won't pay extra for nothing again.

How would it help, though? The issue is servers that can't handle the load. Do you expect such a test server to handle the same volume of players as the live servers? Seems like an excessive expectation. Whether or not it would or could, that would also mean taking players away from the live servers, which would impact players on the live servers by reducing the number of people queuing up for various duties.

I'm just not convinced that a test server would have ever revealed any of these issues. Lesson learned. We'll just have to hope they know better now and avoid instanced content so early. And/or beef up their instance servers. Either way, the big takeaway here is make sure you've got content that spreads players out enough to mitigate congestion.

Your list of mmos played during their biggest releases must be low, then. This is a very, very common thing that happens to many big name and small name mmos. Does that make it right? Hell no, but don't try and single out SE being incompetent when everyone else is as well.
