It crossed the line when players demanded Yoshi p. To step down.

Although completely inappropriate, that's fairly tame to some of the BS I see angry people spouting in the ingame chat channels. Someone in our Novice Network today thought it was acceptable to suggest that Yoshi kill himself over what's been going on.

You could argue "complaining" doesn't help but it actually does. Knowing these issues in the first place will help them not only fix but make a better experience for their players. When you're spending money for whats essentially a service, everyone has a right to complain about it. You should complain, you should report these issues. The problem I see on these forums.. is that the devs or anyone for that matter responds... We have no idea if we're even being herd or that anything is being done to help resolve the issues we're having. That's horrible customer service and a huge smack in the face to your fan base. I think in the future this company needs to make a better effort at responding more frequently through any type of social media.

Complaining just because they like hearing their own voice (or reading their own words) helps no-one. Constructive criticism is much better. It's blatantly obvious a vast majority of the people on the forums don't understand the difference between the two.

Right now I think my most frustrating problem is the fact that I am currently stuck unable to log in because apparently zoning into the Navel is a blueprint for the 90k loop from hell.

I spent 23 hours getting past the MSQ bottleneck and avoided the Susano permalock just to have Titan murder me. *headdesk*

I would cut some slack if this was an unexpected issue, but no, its a specific problem that has been a problem before, blocked out parts of 2.0, was adressed mentioned and said to not be done again. Then now, they brought that old problem and slapped it back in without a care, and now we get mostly silence except for some vague "updates" at the 36 hour mark with no fix in sight and it only getting worse.

No, I am not going to cut some slack, this is just poorly done AND handled.

I think the division is over civility more then "hating" or "fanboying". Is it a bad error? Absolutely, I don't think anyone would say the lines, the quest stalling, and the launch as a whole have not been a disaster. At least from my point of view, the reason I feel the need to "defend the devs" is honestly just how I am. Some here take it personal and become aggressive with me but I doubt that would happen in real life. A lot of this rage is visible because we are all behind screens And as an older guy I approach online behavior as I do real life behavior.

Here is an example:

I plan an evening out with my wife to a steakhouse. The dinner will end up being around $60-$100, which makes it equal in economic value in my head to the money I paid for SB. Now I expect the restaurant to have a good steak. They advertised a good steak. They have tv spots about how good it is, and I expect them to have my good steak and plenty of it when I get there. So I get there and order the steak and it comes and its terrible. Through human error it was bad and filthy and I cannot continue on with my night and my evening I put aside for dinner with my wife is ruined.


Let's add more now. I ask for a manager and am ignored. No one answers me and the manager drags his feet coming out to talk to me. This is the worst and by every standard what has happen in Stormblood but in a different situation. Now here is where I break from you lot. The outrage, that fakest of internet emotions that just crawls up my skin. In the dinner situation were I to start shouting, bang on the table, demand as loudly and obnoxiously demand jobs, compensation.... well I would look like a loon. Its just not done like that in real life. You can pay and leave and return later to talk to someone higher up. You can be expressive without showing your ass I guess is my point. I mean be honest, would you act this way in person in a similar situation?


I'm sorry if some think I'm a fanboy or white knight or whatever. I'm to old to give a shit about name calling honestly. But irl if I see someone flip out on an employee or someone like I'm seeing here, its my natural urge to step in and defend them. People make mistakes, and they should be put right. But its never ok to talk down to someone. To yell and scream and show out because your mad. Is it really so bad to ask for a deep breath and some calm?

If it is really getting to you, log out. Do other things with your day. Come back in a couple of days, and enjoy the rest of the expansion when this situation is alleviated.

Why should I have to stop playing the game I paid for just to solve problems they are forcing on me? I paid my money. They took my money. I can't play the content I paid for. I'm not gonna stop playing, and I'm not about to stop complaining about it either. They messed up big time, and the faster they get off their asses and do something more than apologize to us for their stupid and easily avoidable mistakes, the faster this whole situation will settle down.

I am just tired of people trying to ruin mine and other's experience of the expansion. I have had a blast so far.

You having a blast is fine and dandy, but guess what, an overwhelming amount of people don't. Their complaints are a reflection of that and is plenty justified because they -are- paying customers, paying for a service that right now isn't remotely satisfactory to them. You wanting them to be silent because it ruin your experience of the expansion is as silly as people not wanting to see beggars on the street because their pitiful existence ruin their day.

Lets not also forget that the NA datacenter movement to the West Coast was to make things smooth for SB, which was at expense of East Coast and Europeans getting worse latency. Can't exactly that smoothness held up and that it feels they just picked up some stuff out of the discount bin with an excuse to go.
