That 10% bonus to success chance of Hasty Touch II compared to the normal Hasty Touch is actually a bigger deal than you might think.

Assume you have Steady Hands II active for the sake of argument. Hasty Touch has a 20% chance to fail, and Hasty Touch II has a 10% chance to fail. This means that Hasty Touch II actually has HALF the chance to fail that Hasty Touch has, which means it will fail half as much. Excepting moments when you're worried about being CP starved (or when Steady Hands II is NOT active), Hasty Touch II is always worth using over Hasty Touch.

On the other hand, if Steady Hand II is NOT active, the difference in chances to fail are changed rather dramatically. Hasty Touch has a 50% chance of failure compared to Hasty Touch II and its 40% chance of failure. This means that Hasty Touch II only reduces the chance to fail by 1/5 compared to the fail chance of Hasty Touch while lacking Steady Hand II. In this case, I'd say that you should just use Hasty Touch over Hasty Touch II, in order to save CP. Unless you don't need to save CP, at which point just use whatever you can afford.

Personally, I'm absolutely in love with Hasty Touch II. I've all but replaced Hasty Touch with it entirely. Granted, this is on easier crafts, and I'm not yet even close to 70 on any of my DoH, so circumstances may differ for end-game crafts. Still, the ability to half the failure chance of one of the most RNG-ridden skills of the average crafting rotation is not something one should dismiss lightly, even if it costs some CP.

Remember, the exp bonus is based on how much Quality you add during the craft, and thus using HQ materials (which limits the amount of Quality you can add during by adding it beforehand) reduces the total exp you can get from any given synth.
Oh right. I totally forgot about that. It probably saves a lot of money this way because one will gain more EXP with the same amt of mats. I guess I will do that too.
BUTBUTBUT... it just pains me to turn a stack of HQ stuff into NQ! LOL!

    "Noooooooo, my preeecioussss!!!!"

Maybe I'll just turn some into NQ, but not like a whole stack... just gonna turn whatever that is immediately consumed...

Camie, just for the sake of demonstration, I did two Basilisk Whetstones, one using a HQ Basilisk Egg and the other a NQ, bringing both to 100% (recipe chosen due to the ease of doing so). This is at level 60 GSM with full Rested, but no other bonuses ...

    HQ : 290% (aka 240% bonus, with 50% rested) 2066 exp
    NQ : 350% (aka 300% bonus, with 50% rested) 2386 exp

The difference may not be huge, but it is worth remembering.

At level 60, a level 61 craft under those same conditions (Rested, 100% Quality, all NQ materials) gives 70446 exp. If max HQ materials were used, that drops down to 61053. That 9k exp difference may not mean a whole lot, but when crafting by hand, it adds up.
