So your crying here because your ability to tank will be limited depending on what GC you chose, and you picked the wrong one? If the shield is that fundimental to your ability as a tank, well, you have bigger issues then a GC shield.

We can do what is arguably the toughest battle in the game (ifrit) in our underpants with level 1 weapons, and your balling out other peoples perspective for diversity, over a shield.

Sorry, but every player I know preferes a tank that makes the shield, not ones in which the shield makes the tank.

I thought pointing out how irrelavent gear is in the arguably toughest fght in game was highly relavent on the topic of how someone deems that a piece of gear is so important that we need to make game altering changes. Currently I would say the toughest fight is a tie between Zahar'ak NM and Natalan NM. Kobold NM is a cake walk.

Ifrit is weak. Very very weak.

Doing ifrit with level 1 weapons would be impossible, there simply isn't enough damage. Don't know if you've equipped a weathered weapon lately, but the other night I put a bronze war axe on my character thinking I could substitute it for my ifrits axe while waiting for someone to come out to repair it while I was pling my alt. I was doing 80 damage fully buffed storms paths to the mobs. The level 33 mobs, the level 33 mobs that while I had my ifrits axe equipped I was accidently one shotting with auto attack. The damage you do is so determinate on your weapon it is ridiculous. This brings me to the point of the original topic though, all this bs that SE is pulling with the grand companies is completely absurd. Sure, they will be "balanced" over time, but over time doesn't really matter. I don't want to wait a year for the limsa gear to maybe possibly be relevant. All the stats for each piece of gear in their companies should have been exactly the same. Hows that for balance for you SE? Make the stats on all the gear the same but give them different looks to go with each company. You know how long it took me to think of that idea? 5 seconds. 3 of those seconds was me typing the idea so I don't know why your team of developers couldn't think of it.

The whole "just wait we will fix it in the future" nonsense is something that you guys need to get out of your head. I am as excited about 2.0 as the next person, but some of things weve had to wait months to get fixed like the DC issue in darkhold completely destroying runs especially when the ogre room has so much crap going on it has such a high DC ratio, and the ifrit loot not being tradeable are ridiculous.
