[PS4] Unable to download patch files [20512] [25008]

After playing Stormblood on early access for about 5 hours my power went out and had to start the game all over as I launched the game it reported that I need to download the game again this time in a HUGE patch like 22749.42 MB/s, 9 hours later still trying to download the patch but it keeps on saying Unable to download patch files [20512] [25008].

I googled up every possible method on the internet to fix this and still no luck and my internet speed went from before 3.5 MB/s to 0.50 MB/s with having 60 MB down and 5.5 MB upload speeds, I tried all my online games and no problem running smooth but when downloading from stormblood patch notes it's super slow please FIX SE A.S.A.P!!!

Try doing the download at 0.1 mb/s. I got over it and bought a new sim with data to hotspot 4g speeds.

The Dreaded [20512] [25008] error code

I also have this issue, Ever since the launch day at 2am, I've tried everything that the forums and internet provided, Resetting both modem & router, changing DNS, port forwarding, un & re installing the game (in which I suggest you DO NOT DO becuase well in my situation will make it MUCH worse) and even that moblie hotspot option I've found on a different thread. I completely exhausted every step I came across. So if anyone has any suggestions (besides contacting Square Enix in which I have contacted their support and was kept in queue for 6 hours and with no contact with an agent, But don't get me wrong. I'm sure they're busy helping people with same issue I have so no biggie.) I'll be more than happy to try them. But now I'm thinking that it maybe due to server congestion but IDK, thats why I turned to the forums.

Same issue as above. On PS4, had power outage, now I'm stuck downloading 22747.41 MB of some patch called H2017.06.06.0000.0001a and it boots me out after less than a GB of completion with "Cannot download patch files [20512] [25008]

I got that message a lot seems like restarting the PS4 keeps the error from happening. However it took me two days to patch fully with my crap internet, as the file gets smaller the error is less likely to happen.

This is not a new issue, I had this same issue in 2015.

Got this from support this week, since I bought a new ps4, everything downloaded fine outside the SE client but hey... it's still no them.
Hope this helps although this doesn't solve the issue it does help a bit:

Thank you for contacting the Square Enix Support Centre.

We are sorry to hear that you are having an issue connecting to FINAL FANTASY XIV: Online.

The first thing to do would be to try connecting your console to your router directly using a wired cable if you are using wireless internet and then ensuring that the correct ports have been forwarded on your router. You can find out more about forwarding ports on the site http://portforward.com/english/appli...l_Fantasy_XIV/ you should be able to follow the instructions on that site to forward the correct ports FINAL FANTASY XIV: Online needs and you will not download any additional software from that site as it is not necessary.

If that does not help we would recommend making some adjustments to your network settings by following the instructions below :

    -Start PlayStation 4
    -Go to settings
    -Go to network
    -Select setup internet connection
-Select Use a LAN cable (or wi-fi if that?s what you are using)
-Select Custom (there?s several pages to go through here. For settings other than MTU and DNS servers, if there are specific settings your networkconnection has to use, feel free to set them up rather than using automatic settings)

    -IP Address (set to automatic)
-DHCP host name (set to ?Do Not Specify?)
    -DNS Settings (set to Manual)
    -Primary: 8.8.8.8
    -Secondary: 8.8.4.4
    -MTU Settings (set to Manual)
-At default this would be 1500. Try setting it to 1470. You can experiment with this setting a little bit, but we would not recommend you go below 1400.
-Proxy (set to ?Do Not Use?)

    -Now test the connection

We hope this helps to resolve your issue, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused. Please contact us again should you need further assistance.

    Kind regards,

The Square Enix Support Centre team
