    Official "Patch Notes" For DRK and all other Jobs, #'s included

    All the same badstuff from the datamined notes but some differences:

    Souleater reads "A portion" of damage dealt is returned. This could mean any %. We'll have to test in game in six hours.

    Dark Arts Abyssal Drain now also reads "A portion", which makes me think it is no longer 100%, otherwise it would read something like "Returns all damage dealt as HP" or something like that.

    I was a bit floored when I noticed the abyssal drain change. Like, why? It was fine the way it was. The self-sustainment was awesome. Maybe they don't want tanks being self-sustaining anymore?

    Id guess the "portion" is based on having grit or not.
    Or the portion is affected by DA.

    With blood price being grit only, id imagine the heal is meant to be higher in grit, so as to avoid DPS tanks trying to self heal with their increased dmg.

    Apparently they do not want tanking methods derived from damage dealing (health taps) anywhere close to meta, and they're salting the ground so that no amount of iLvl bloat later in 4.x can let it reemerge.

    They nerfed WAR just the same, so it seems pretty clear they want to cut self-sustain potency a tad. Like AoE.

    Scourge doesn't even bother me in the slightest. I couldn't care less that scourge was removed. What I care about is:

    -Low Blow stolen and nerfed.
    -Reprisal stolen and nerfed.
    -Dark Dance stolen and nerfed.
    -Souleater nerfed into the ground.
    -Abyssal Drain nerfed into the ground.

    PLD had some abilities stolen, but they weren't nerfed when they became role abilities like the DRK ones were.

    Wow, this just keeps getting worse and worse. I am so mad right now.

    When Stormblood was officially announced, some of the comments made me hesitant, as in I did not want to commit to the pre order in case they ruined the game to the point that I would ragequit. Well, after a few weeks I decided I really wanted early access and figured what the hell sicne they released the Samurai video.

    Today is the last straw. I actually enjoyed tanking in this game, because the damage dealt was not atrocious and my favorite thing was hero pulls in dungeons with evade tank and AD sustain. All that is gone now, and more. This sucks. I knew I should have waited until the details were released.

    Maybe Tenacity is a scalar for the proportion of damage that is converted to health on health-taps.

    So instead of meeting Acc caps, we might start looking for a Tenacity cap (ie to reach 1:1 damage to health)?

    Too far a stretch? Just a few more hours @_@
