Crashing is expected. Going back into a queue immediately is BS

the worst is when you get d/c'd and have to wait 5-6 minutes to even TRY to get into a queue because 'your character is still logged in, please wait'

i dont think i've played an mmo in the last 15 years that didnt allow you to connect directly back to a linkdead character

This used to happen with WoW all the time.
