so I just logged in. got in it. and it crashed. now I'm 1,177 in line after just waiting 15 mins before to get in.
I don't even have stormblood yet and I can't log in. So I decided to create a brand new character on one of the underpopulated servers. I still got kicked. Somehow they've screwed this up for every person playing the game so the "beta test" excuse DEFINITELY holds no water.
Except there are. There are people who were able to get past to two instanced bottlenecks and get to the new zones and continue on, while the rest of us have been able to do squat. It's pretty much like this with every MMO out there when something new is released. These server issues are temporary, and will likely improve in a day or two, when the hype calms down... But hey you can't blame everyone who has anticipated this game for jumping on within the first day.
I can get in, but I got DC at the end of a dungeon earlier, and had to sit out a que of 800 before I could get back in. Everybody is having problems, so there isn't anybody out there who is actually getting an unfair advantage and can login stabily. It's a great game, and we will all get to play. Just gotta let everybody who wanted to jump on as soon as the servers went up die down. We've waited this long and this game is worth it. In a couple days, this will start to clear up and rectify itself, and we should all be stormblood bound.
Got home from work and logged in. More tha. 2.5k people ahead of me. This took more than an hour to get past.
Just completed my first whole dungeon without being kicked. Repaired, queued for the next one and was kicked. Now there are 4,271 people ahead of me. Why are they ahead? I didn't log out, I wansn't idle. Its crazy how hard they're making it to play the game we paid for.
I'm furious, 2.x & 3.x opening days were nowhere near this bad. Square tell you what - next time instead of bloating the budget on the advertisement campaign, make sure the servers are operational under high stress. Because frankly this was near 1.0 levels of 2 steps disconnect, start a guildleve then disconnect. "Other MMOs openings has had it like this as well" doesn't cut it whatsoever.
I've heard this excuse all day from the player base, but then try to either:
A) Instantly start drama in the shout chat over frivolous material or just being a troll.
B) Try to get people to disconnect, log out, or leave for their own benefit.
C) Get people to add onto the problem, resulting in our current server state.
In 17 years of playing MMO's I can say without a doubt that todays level of incompetency is outstanding and staggering. First more than 15 hours to alleviate one problem only to run into the EXACT same problem less than an hour later. Honestly, fix your issues SE.
Agreed. if they hadn't wasted so much on advertising and focus on..I dunno, these servers this wouldn't be so bad. They moved to Cali, me being east coast Canada that already raised my ping to 190+, now these new 'servers' are just as unreliable as the old ones. Worse, support hasn't posted ANYTHING about what they plan to do to fix this instance issue, other than "oh go wait".
You know, I work in a big IT system business part of the entire Eastern North America system. Analyze, Solution, Test and etc. It isn't easy as band-aide everything. As developer / system view, you are all just clueless and sorry to say. Bunch of whiners. Problem can happens, world is not perfect. This is why a lot of tech and it ignores needy, whiner, complainer.
Another word, the worst customers that aren't making things easier instead just full blowing up forums and pour oil into fires. Quit and uninstall games, good. Better for everyone, we don't need these people.
